Moravius (1124) - Berlin, GERMANY - SEP 9, 2016
Flasche (50 cl) vom Bauernladen, Lichtenfels. - Goldgelb, klar.

Bottle bought at Landbierparadies in Nuremberg. Looks simple but okay. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Starts mild, fine malty, mild hoppy-dry notes, hints of lemon. Finish more spicy, still mild dry notes. Quite drinkable. A good one!

Tap at the brewery in Aug, 2014: Pale golden. Wispy but uniform head. Pleasant nose of toasted piecrust, bright lemon verbena, hay, baguette and flowers. Firm and snug carbonation. Soft and toasty haylike pils malt fuses with very clean and zesty Spalt hop bitterness which discharges lemon verbena and wood root spices evenly across the tongue. Gentle oils sizzle as they gracefully drip from the sharper herbality. Bouncy hay adds obligatory texture and depth beneath the prevalent and drier toastiness. Very soft and round in body, yet with a perfect touch of minerals and biting lager yeast. Closes well-attenuated yet adequately oily, with enough lemony vibrancy to fill in the lean body and give the perception of fullness. A perfectly serviceable pils, even if it exchanges dynamism for cleanness. Certainly hoppier than most pilsners in the region, and boasts just enough character to remind you that this is a Franconian product. Enjoyable.

3fourths (9137) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - AUG 12, 2014
Draft at the brewery in Lichtenfelds. Clear gold with a proper foamy head.
Quiet nose, nearly absent of any aroma save a subtle baked cracker pils malt profile and a slight touch of lemon hoppiness. Clean, properly crisp, medium-light bitterness, lightly sweet... pretty much your basic, clean German Pilsner, nothing out of sorts, but lacks expression. Light body with a short, watery, lightly-spicy / peppery finish.
