A slightly bitter but smooth Pils-style beer, brewed using high-quality summer brewing barley and Hallertau aroma hops. Fermented using selected bottom-fermented yeast.

@ the brewpub in Böblingen. Strawy yellow with a small white head. Shy malty start, quite dry, low carbonation, well-balanced with a nice dry hop character.

Shared bottle. Clear light yellow with short lasting white head. Light raw vegetables, chicory, white bread, some ’old notes’,lemon. Light sweetness with deep herbal bitterness. Light to medium bodied. I have mixed feelings, some very pleasant notes, but the vegetal bitterness is too overpowering for me.

Draught @Hausbrauerei Wichtel, S-Feuerbach, 11/02/2014. Easily the tastiest Pils in greater Stuttgart, which frankly isn’t saying that much. The yeast stem may be working at a typical brewpub medium throttle, producing sweetish but dry honey aromas from Bio Heidelberg pale malts (on display next to kettle) but the nicely green-hopped layer on top of that is powerful enough to sustain aromas of grass, white pepper, lemongrass from onset to lingering bitter finish. Firmly brewed within the SW tradition of yeasty/naturtrübes, sweetish Pils, with a little extra to make it stand out. /note: takeaway 1L bottle loses its appeal fast, drink fresh and at source.

On tap at the brewhouse. Could have been a bit more aromatic but it still is ok for a nice rating. Better than a usual pilsner with somer grainy aromas but with a too bitter end and a bit taste missing. Nice one with HUGE quality but not that what I have expected.

On tap @the brewpub. Light milky light yellow-golden colour with steady head and crisp body. Got served very chilled. As I was really thirsty because it was a very warm day and I haven’t had something to drink for hours, I was really looking forward to a cool Pilsener. This one is really refreshing at first with hints of bitter hops, grass, lemon fruits and cress. There is a really bitter finish which isn’t that nice. But otherwise it is a really good Pilsener.

Draught at the bräuhaus Feuerbach location
Cloudy orange-blond color; generous head. Light but nice hop aroma, with very light biscuity malt (6½). Good body strength, maybe a bit too sweet; mild malt flavor with a hidden crispness; good bitterness level, with shades of the aroma hop. Overall, a beer that doesn’t dare; there are some good points, but they are kept on low profile.
Anyway, after a weekend of semi-bad beers, this is the first real drinkable one.

Daneben leicht malzig. Test vom 25.6.2007, Gebinde: Fass Noten: 11,11,10,13,-,11 - 11,15
