3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
330mL. The champion from our blind tasting. Pours a clear to near hazy amber cinnamon with a massive, rocky, tan head with excellent retention and giant, poofy lace. Aroma of cinnnamon, honey, fresh orange, citrus zest, caramel. Taste was boozy, bitter, pretty in your face, rich, some relative alcohol warming even from a measly 5.4%. Really outstanding.

Ok, but too malty for me to enjoy.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Opaque amber pour with a small beige head. Rather sweet nose on this one. Candy and floral hops with a touch of citrus. Citrus in the taste with sweet candy and sweet toffee behind it all. Surprisingly has decent length. Pretty average

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Clear, good looking, amber body although a poor head. I notice caramel more in the aroma than the promised hops. Taste is a little better but not a lot of body or big on flavours, an american pale ale but not one of my favourites.

Bottle. Clear amber light beige head that fades to a coat. Grapefruit, kumquat, a little pine, caramel aroma. Stone fruit and light caramel under citrus and pine. Bitter finish is there but less pronounced than the initial aromatics.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
One I’ve tried a few times with differing results. Definitely comes across as one that’s better quaffed fresh at the brewery as the hops don’t quite pull off what they set out to achieve.
5 on 5 for appearance. Radiant and shimmering, fiery copper body with minute flecks of proteins in suspension. Very fine, intermittent carbonation holds steady a two-finger, dense and satiny smooth, off-white crown that manages some solid lace-work. Sticky, sweet toffee and cereal-like toasted malts dominate the aroma with a grassy and citrus fruit edge. Quite grainy, dry and cereal-like on first sip. Citrus is reserved to the bitter side, like under-ripe oranges and lime zest. Assertively bitter, herbal, dry and grassy finish to it drops off without a trace. Yeasty also, mildly sulphurous but nothing too alarming. Shows good balance, a light body and moderate carbonation. Easily knock back a few without too much effort. 4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Not bad, not bad. At first I was a little skeptical as the head was modest and aroma a bit funky. Poured at a good temperature with a smallish, cream-colored, thick, short lived head and some lace. Color is a clear honey amber with bubble trails. Aroma is malt, barn yard, funk. Flavor is way better with resiny hop in front, then tang, then a nice dose of sweet to balance. This beer grows on me the more I drink it, esp. if I ignore whiffing it. Body is very good; ditto carbonation. Finish is like flavor, of average length, no off qualities, super drinkable. Bravo!

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Vibrant caramel pour with a reasonably sized head that receded rather quickly.
Cascade hops are very prominent in the aroma, very green, citrusy and grassy. Malt is definitely not forgotten, quite sweet and clean, with some hints of caramel, and unfortunately, some grainy notes.
Flavour is hop dominator (that’s what my notes say, perhaps the alcohol is hitting?), again very green, with some of the citrus coming through. Quite a pronounced hoppy bitterness (almost metallic at times, actually) but the finish really seems to be lacking, almost watery.
Good carbonation but a little light on for body.
