Bottle _ pours black with small tan head. Lots of toasty. Toasty choc malt. Taste is bittersweet up front with a long bitter finish. Smooth creamy mouthfeel.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours black in colour with a thin coffee coloured head that dissipates quickly, making the beer look like flat cola. Aroma of roast coffee and sawdust. The taste is of mild coffee, roasted malt and is slightly bitter. There is a slight fizziness on the palate and finish is slightly bitter and only short-lasting. Overall a reasonable porter.

330mL bottle BB 13JUN2016
Claims to be a "cellar release" of sorts - sounds good!
Certainly looks the part - pours a thick looking ruby body, a tan head lounges about atop without a care in the world.
Nose is somewhat subdued, but suggests a very rich complex story about to unfold; dark chocolate, plums/prunes & dates, burnt caramel, some cakey/pudding sort of quality to it, and earthy/tobacco-y hops.
Good weight on the palate, thick, chewy, low carbonation adding to the overall viscous nature.
So much to enjoy here - cocoa, dark cooking chocolate, sticky date pudding, some charred notes, latte, some lovely dark fruit esters, and a hint of leafy, earthy hop. Finishes with a moderately firm bitterness, lingering for a good while.
Excellent porter. Plenty of character, well rounded and enjoyable.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
From a 330ml bottle on 3/11/2014. Pours the deepest of browns with a huge tan head (bottle gushed a bit on opening). The nose features lots of choc malt and a bit of caramel as well. The flavour features lots of chocolate, cocoa, some fudge, and hints of caramel and berries. A subdued bitterness counters the sweetness nicely. Has a creamy palate and was a touch over-carbed (no such issue with a previous bottle shared with my bro). A very nice porter.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
(Bottle) Very dark brown with a thin pale brown head. Nice rich aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, toast. Lovely mouthfeel, with excellent carbonation - booth smooth creamy and bright. Rich flavours whilst remaining refreshing. Taste starts with raisins / port and some gentle acidity. In the mid palate richer chocolate coffee creamy flavours develop. These transition into some acidity and pleasant dark bitter notes in the finish. There’s some slight smokey woody notes in there somewhere too. Very good porter.

Great Porter. Prefect beer for a Winter's night. Nice head, almost a sweet espresso like taste. A full bodied Porter.

A beer from a small brewer that punches above its weight. Smooth, full bodied flavour makes this a beer I’d happily have another of.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark brown with gold tinges, head vanishes. Woody whisky oak, mocha, earthy. Dry coffee bitterness, not heavy though, with a body on the medium side and a good finish and length.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours a nice deep Black with a small 1 finger nail head.
Aroma. A sweet nutty espresso smell.
Taste. Strong Licorice up front, backed by some espresso and a general roastiness, with an annoying bitterness throughout.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
I must say that I'm quite a fan of TLBC Christmas Ale quad. This one pours almost pitch black with only the mildest ruby highlights and a big 3 finger pillowy head that quickly becomes a thick film on top of the beer. Not a huge amount of lacing though. Aroma is roasted malts, espresso, Vegemite, brown sugar. Taste is exactly the same, with the Vegemite being a bit more prominent. Mouthfeel is quite thin & drinkable, although I think a few would 'stack up' so to speak. Not bad at all but not one of the greats.
