3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask, Newcastle Arms. Deep, dark brown with minimal muddy head. Aroma was stale coffee and roasted malt which continued into the flavour which had some subdued dark fruit and chocolate notes. A drinkable mild, and relatively full for the low ABV.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle labelled íDobleís Dogí, 3.8%. Couldnít wait to see if this beer was as atrocious as the other two WH brews Iíve just (partially) plugholed. Itís immeasurably better. Pours stout-like pitch with dirty yellow suds and lace. Aroma burnt malt and coffee over an underpinning tang of blackcurrant and hedgerow fruit. In other words, itís a dribble-maker. More of the same in the mouth, with bags of coffee, blackberry buttery smoked malt, and a hint of dark chocolate. Tasty, assertive, well-conditioned mild, with schwarzbier leanings.

2.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Watery beer with a slightly bitter/coffee flavour. The aroma is also lightly coffee scented. Overall a dull beer to drink.
