COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cherry Pie! Cherry Pie! Cherry Pie! At 6.6% abv this light and fruity ale is black in color, although your palate would never know it. Black Angel is fermented on the Wicked Wild yeast and then moved into stripped down Four Roses Barrels and aged on tart cherries, sweet cherries and Italian plums. The white oak and roast malt add notes of vanilla and graham-cracker that when blended with the tart sweetness of the fruit bring out this robust cherry pie flavor that is unmistakable. This sour is a beautiful marriage of fruit and beer that always leaves you wishing the glass was full.

A: Oaky. A bit of sweetness and a hint of cherry. A: Pours a very dark redish brown. Head has a hint of black red color. T: Tastes oaky. Cherry note is very subtle. Sourness is good. P: Solid body on the palate. Sourness is great. carbonation is good. Overall this isnít the best showing of a cherry sour but itís pretty solid. The oak note comes through more than the cherry note which is the opposite of what Iím looking for. The medium-heavy body also seems a little weird. Not a bad beer: worth checking out.

Pours a dark brown with beautiful sour cherry notes in the nose with an ever so subtle bourbon scent. The sour cherries and plums come through in the flavor. A beautiful sour!

Aroma has the sour with a bit of smokey. The flavor is night Brett sour with notes of tart cherries and a subtle more complex nature. ---Rated via Beer Buddy by Me

From bomber. Pours dark purple with tan head. Sour/Cherry aroma with occasional hints of bourbon. For a sour it is not tremendously sour - and as somebody who is not a fan of sours that is a good thing. The cherry flavor is the most natural cherry flavor I've had in a beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

0.5L bottle. deep purple pour with a small beige/brown head. tart cherry and sour purple grape aroma. the flavor has notes of purple grape, berries and cherry with mild notes of dark chocolate. mild sourness. a nice fresh woody character. i really enjoy the "low acid" sours and i could drink this one in large quantities.

Jet black, no head, funky nose, very tart but not over the top, perfect level of carbonation

Draft at the brewery. Pours a deep brown color with a reddish tint and some khaki bubbles. Notes of tart cherry, lemon, vanilla, oak, black currants, toasted sugar, and subtle bourbon. Not too unlike a cherry pie. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a tart, dry mouthfeel. Some acidity, too. Another very good sour.
