Was afraid they only served this on Fridays, but lo and behold there it was on a Saturday afternoon. I suppose that makes up for them not actually having Dark Age tapped at 3pm on the Thursday before. Oh well. Surprisingly dark, nearly black pour with a solid little beige head. Nose of cherry skins, oak, vanilla, cocoa, and other dark malt notes. Taste shows all those dark malts balanced nicely with acetic notes and cherries. Really good, but I donít know... almost too drinkable? Complex wasnít necessarily a word Iíd use to describe it, but I canít complain about it either. I could drink a ton of it.

Really delicious sour. Good for someone who is not a sour fan that is looking to branch into the world of sours. Notes of cherry plumb and a good amount of sour funk. Really good.

Bottle. Pours deep brown with a thin head. Tart and mildly acidic base, with some light tart cherry sweetness, soft and dry funky yeasty notes, and a light acidic finish. Not bad.

Draft at funkatorium. Pours black with a khaki head. Leaves some lacing in the glass. Solid cherry notes on the nose. Fairly dry on the tongue. Big black cherry notes as well. Finished with lots of tartness. Not bad.

Tap @ Wicked Weed Funkatorium - pours deep dark red, with no head. Heavy on the cherries and funk. Iím not getting much of the bourbon or any oak notes. This one plays up the sourness more than some of the others they have produced. Finishes a bit dry. Very drinkable!

12/21/14. Draft at the funkatorium. Light cherry nose belies the super tart cherry mouth. Classic sour the huge fruit. Just a touch of the bourbon rounding it out.

Dark brown, head is tan with small bubbles. Aroma confuses me a little. Itís not big, and whatís there is hard to put a finger on. Fruit. A little roasted grain. Taste is very sour. Thatís mostly what I noticed on a first sip, but after a few it doesnít seem overwhelming. Also present is a cherry sweetness, and some funky, peppery notes. And definitely chocolate. Smooth, sour, chocolate. I like it.

500ml bottle pours dark brown almost black with a finger of head. Nose is musty dark fruit, grape, touch of spice, ashy cocoa dust and earthy cherry, dirt, fruit. Taste is similar with earthy ashy roast cocoa and tart mixed berries, dirt, dusty wood funk, cola, basement. Finish is tart dark grain funk, cherry, berry, vinous grape, leather, wood. Nice beer.

Bottle from westmeister-thanks, man! Shared with my buddy with Asheville ties in recognition of his graduating from architecture program at CU Denver.
Dark brown with light magenta tones at the edges. Nose of Luxardo cherries, light barrel, dark malts. Taste is light oak, lightly tart, soured dark malts, and Luxardo cherries again. Nice beer, well balanced, not a sour bomb.
