COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Freak is our San Francisco inspired hoppy monster. At 8.4% abv and who knows how many ibuís, this beer is our shrine to the Hop. Absurd amounts of all the big West Coast hops give this beer itís citrusy weedy nose and big dank hop flavor. Drinking this beer is like stuffing your face into a bag of fresh hops while eating a tangerine. We dry hop with 48lbs per batch or over 3lbs of hops per barrel. In following with the classic style of the West Coast double sugar plays a big part in creating this dry and minimally bitter double IPA. The Freak is particularly pintable for the style, so if you dare to enter we welcome you to the Freak Show.

Golden color with little to no white head. Aroma is light citrus hops. Flavor is slightly hoppy with a clean finish. Rated from a growler, remember it being a little more assertive at the brewery.

Rediculously huge head of frothy bubbles. I apparently chose the wrong glass to pour this beer into. Lots of citrus and peaches in the aroma with some mild cheddar cheese, sweet malts and some boiled potatoes. Color is a medium golden orange. Actually a bit flat in the mouth. Must have expelled all of the carbonation with my crappy pour. Soft malts, lots of herbal earthy hops, slightly chalky palate and some dried grass. Light alcohol presence and warming. Rather string and lingering bitterness that kepp the tongue dry and tingly. A pretty decent IIPA. Thank you Etowneraser!

These guys continue to impress. Great hoppy nose when you pop the cap. Pours a clear pale golden. Fairly carbonated. Short, fizzy head. Nice clean bitter flavor with a bite in the finish. Good stuff.

Bottle: Poured a golden with white head. Aroma is sweet floral with malt. Hops are strong hops a little malt. Earthy.

Technically, this is a perfect double iPa. Subtle but lingering sweetness, beautiful deep golden green haze, hoppy tounge twister. I like it.

Very slightly hazy brilliant golden with a large foamy white head. Big juicy but also hugely hoppy dank nose thatís earthy and fresh and resiny and pithy. Crisp mouthfeel thatís big on American hops; lots of bitter piney flora resins, lots of pith, lots of earthy fresh picked hops, leafy flavors, and a cool but bitter and crisp finish thatís slightly boozy.

500 ml bottle, thanks Robin! Clear orange with white head. Fruity, citrus with hoppy zest, grapefruit and pine. Dry with medium bitterness and medium carbonation. Nice!

Nice fruity nose, with hints of spice and maybe kale; smooth and gentle malt foundation throughout on the palate with bright lemon at the start, joined by crisp white pepper bitterness, grassiness, and green wood.

Really hoppy in the nose and in the taste. Pretty intense but easy to drink as you get in to it.

500ml from source. 6/29 bottle date -- 10 days fresh. Missed it at the brewery stop as was driving another 300 miles ... Very clear orange pour. Aroma has pineapple and pine, tons of citrus. Taste is of pineapple, citrus, sweet malts, pine and chewy resin. Dank and chewy. Some alcohol presence. Medium bodied. Blend is solid. Finishes more bitter than bittersweet. A solid tasty offering - another in a line of NC IPAs that are very good. 14.5

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange color. Aroma and taste are tons of juicy citrus, grapefruit, and some pine.
