Very happy to try a small growler of this at Beer Study. Clean sharp yellow pour with one finger of white head. Super resinous and oily nose, thereís a mild onion/garlic component with lots of citrus. Super hoppy and resinous, pretty awesome.

10 oz Draft in the Basement This was my first trip to this renowned Brewpub. The D/IPA poured a light gold color with a small
head and lacing. The grapefruit aroma greets you and the citrus bitterness stays with every swallow. The ale has soft carbonation and a medium body. This is well brewed D/ IPA. Sharp bitterness grips the tongue in the back, capping off this colorful D/IPA with a refreshingly dry swallow.

UPDATED: MAR 22, 2015 On tap at Wicked Weed. Aroma is 11/10 - beyond perfect juicy sweet hops. Taste:... ... ... Iím back, after being in a hop coma. Before I blacked out I remember sweet tropical fruit notes brilliantly balanced out with a bitter bite. Love it; couldnít be better.

Howler from a trade. Clear gold pour with a small head that fades to a thin ring. Awesome aroma. Heavy dank hops, juicy pineapple, pine, juniper berries, weed, and grapefruit. Tastes very dank. Juicy malt and hops help tame the darkness. Weed, pineapple, and pine are the biggest flavors. Medium body. Ultra oily mouthfeel. Great DIPA.

Location: Draft at Topelo Honey Asheville, 12/31/14
Aroma: The aroma is tropical hops, plenty of pine/resin, and some caramel notes
Appearance: It is clear gold in color, with a bright white head, and some nice lacework
Flavor: This one has a great hoppy flavor, with a light sweetness, and a big, crisp bitterness
Palate: It is medium bodied, the ABV is super well hidden, and it has a pretty dry finish
One of my favorites of the year comes on the final day. I drink a ton of IPAs (and DIPAs, and APAs, etc.), and I like a ton of them too, but only a few really standout as world class. This is an excellent beer. This stands out as world class.

My Bottom Line:
This classic Double IPA seduces with precise citrusy, tropical fruitiness perfuming a svelte, effervescent body, leading to resinous hop bitterness.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam stays atop the misty blond shine.
-This may be a textbook example, but it is right on the money with everything it does.
-This is amazingly drinkable for a brew this strength. A bit like Pliny The Elder.
-Pale malts are a very able supporting cast.
On tap at the brewery restaurant.

Growler from Appalachian vintner. Pours a straight up oramge with a quickly dissipating white head. Chewy fruit aromas and flavors. Orange tangerine some green apple. Great body and light sweetness. Tasty.
