COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Freak is our San Francisco inspired hoppy monster. At 8.4% abv and who knows how many ibu’s, this beer is our shrine to the Hop. Absurd amounts of all the big West Coast hops give this beer it’s citrusy weedy nose and big dank hop flavor. Drinking this beer is like stuffing your face into a bag of fresh hops while eating a tangerine. We dry hop with 48lbs per batch or over 3lbs of hops per barrel. In following with the classic style of the West Coast double sugar plays a big part in creating this dry and minimally bitter double IPA. The Freak is particularly pintable for the style, so if you dare to enter we welcome you to the Freak Show.

Thanks Danny! Awesome balanced DIPA. Equally sweet and bitter. Grapefruit, tropical, and earth. Bright, not too sticky. Good stuff

Sampled at WW upstairs (5/17/15). Like the Pernicious, terrific nose with grapefruit and tropical fruits, light sweetness to it. Golden clear with thin white head. Medium body with medium-high carbonation. Starts and stays moderately bitter but with tons of hop flavor. Nice DIPA.

Bottle from Bacco, packaged on 2/22/16. Poured into a pint glass clear gold with a thin head and light lacing. Very subtle hop and citrus aroma. Medium bodied, some carbonation, with a nice, long bitter grassy finish. Not the hop bomb I expected, but nonetheless very good.

Citrusy and dank nose and flavor. Very very good, moderate bitterness and big body. Only a touch of alcohol showing puts this just behind Pernicious. Two great hoppy brews.

Pours deep gold into a tulip. Bright white head with good retention recedes to skim surface. Resin and pine aromas. Sweet with caramel and dry resin upfront turning hot in the lasting nutty pine finish.

Tasted from bottle. Pours hazy orange with white head. Aroma is citrus forward with grapefruit, orange, lemon, some sweet caramel notes. Taste is pretty heavily bitter but a nice clean bitterness. Lot of citrus flavors with some pine, caramel, crackers. Awesome IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
