COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This ale is 5.6% abv and our first venture into barrel aged American wild ales. A blond Saison base similar to that of Saison I, fermented on our proprietary Wicked Wild strain. After fermentation we moved the beer into Petite Verdot Barrels from Rock House Vineyards and added mango, papaya and guava where it sat for 6 months. This ale is tart and tropical with notes of musty hay and citrus. The tartness of this sour is moderate and the dry fruityness makes this beer a great palate cleanser and pairs well with delicate dishes.

Updated: Aged in white wine barrels with 250 lbs per batch of papaya, mango, pineapple and guava. The beer is blended from barrels ranging 5-12 months.

Gold pour with a 1 finger head. Slightly hazy, good lacing. Topical fruit and funk in the aroma. Taste... Tropical fruit, specifocally passionfruit, moderately sour, vinous, green mango and white grape. Dry mouthfeel, medium body.

Sampled at mwbbf. Hazy and golden. A little butter in here. Really nice and dry. A bit funky but moderately so. Tropical fruit like it is off the tree. Grassy with light citrus notes. I approve.

Bottle from Brusin Ales - pours clear straw with no head, still. This a nice balanced sour, that doesn’t overwhelm. It had a nice bright sourness, which is surprising in a barrel aged beer. From an aroma standpoint, I’m getting tropical fruits, coconut, and a touch of sour funkiness. Very nice!

Draft at brewpub. Pours yellow with an inch of white foam. Leaves trace lacing in glass. Big tropical fruit and sour notes on nose. Has some nice sourness on the tongue balanced by all the tropical fruitiness. Finishes with a bit of sourness. This is a surprisingly quaffable sour.

Solid sourness to the flavor. Lots of pineapple, guava, and green grape. Some sweet mango and a touch of peach. Maybe some banana, white wine, and a fair amount of lemon. Good stuff.

My first sour from Wicked Weed and it was delicious! I love their line of sours and this was the leader of them for me. The fruit taste is evident along with the white wine! Just a wonderfully made sour!

Bottle shared by jcnielsen at the grand tasting of RBSG - thanks again, Justin! Pours a hazed pale yellow with minimal head. Notes of vanilla, funk, apple, grape, mineral, papaya, pineapple, and pear. Light-bodied, with low carbonation and a tart, fruity mouthfeel. Good funky, fruity sour.
