COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This ale is our first venture into barrel aged American wild ales. A blond Saison base similar to that of Saison I, fermented on our proprietary Wicked Wild strain. After fermentation we moved the beer into Petite Verdot Barrels from Rock House Vineyards and added mango, papaya and guava where it sat for 6 months. This ale is tart and tropical with notes of musty hay and citrus. The tartness of this sour is moderate and the dry fruityness makes this beer a great palate cleanser and pairs well with delicate dishes.

Updated: Aged in white wine barrels with 250 lbs per batch of papaya, mango, pineapple and guava. The beer is blended from barrels ranging 5-12 months.

This was my favorite from WW. Pours a hazy bright golden with a big white head. Nose of saison yeast and light tropical fruits, though I wouldn’t have suspected real fruit in the brew. Hay and wood and light funk. Taste adds a dry acetic quality and more wood, almost a bit closer to Chardonnay but much drier. Crisp and refreshing. I could drink this all day.

Lightly hazy gold. Nose is quite floral with some tropical fruit (papaya mostly). Taste is lightly tart, with flavors of elderflower, and delicate tropical fruit. Delicate little beer.

375 mL bottle shared by Gus in line at 4 Elf. The pour is a bright gold color with a light ring of white head and a lovely soapy lace. The aroma is great. Sour fruit skins and a decent barrel character. There is some wood and earthiness. The flavor is good. Light fruits, heavy barrel. The fruits are good. The mouth feel is good. There is a good viscosity and a light carbonation with a lingeringly winey sour finish. Good! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

wow..super excited to try my first offering from Wicked Weed and this doesn’t let down..just reading the label makes one happy a sour aged with tropical fruits on wine barrels..seems really hard to master but this is stellar..pours a golden color with slight head..small carbonation action..nose is massive tropical aromas with pineapple..mango all working nicely..interesting tang like citric quality intertwined with the vinous character from the barrel..combined with the complexity of the offering at the low 6.0 abv..and no wonder these guys have been garnering high praise for what they are doing..this is excellent from soup to nuts and makes me want to go visit the source for more..cheers

[Backlog] Bottle shared at Franks. Pours a bright golden body with soft white lacing. Mouthfeel is thin bodied with spicy carbonation prickling the palate; notes of dry yeast, bitter tropical fruits, not really juicy or tart - more peppery and spicy.

Bottle, thanks cavemanlawyer! Almost clear pale golden liquid with small, fast dissipating white head. Aroma of lemon, lactic acid, white wine, light wood, apples and light funk. Taste is dry and medium sour with notes of lemon, mineral, apple skin, white wine and light grain. Almost reminds me of mineraly champagne. Light to medium bodied with medium to high carbonation. A tiny bit boozy. Pretty nice.

Clear pale blond beer, no head. Aroma: pretty fruity, sweet, funky, hint of cinnamon, stone fruits, some peaches. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sourish, brett, lemon juice, artificial, fruity touch. Aftertaste: little bitter, tannins, slightly fruity, vinegar acidity, lemon rind, watery finish. I’m not impressed...

Bottle. Pours clear golden, small fizzy white head, quick dissipation, some lacing. Aroma is a big up front burst of butterscotch, followed by some tropical fruit, caramel, oak. Flavor is there too - hella butterscotch, some fruitiness, pineapple note in particular, oaky tannins. Light residual sweetness, lightly tart. I am giving the benefit of the doubt here, but this is the butterscotchiest beer I have ever tried.
