COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with blood orange puree and fresh grapefruit zest, this beer is unlike any other. The richness of blood orange pairs nicely with the tart flavor of grapefruit and hops. We dry-hopped this beer Amarillo and other top secret hops. Why the name Hop Burglar? Level 5 clearance required for this information.

Growler from my awesome mother-in-law. Pours a light clear orange with a small white head. Nose of orange and a bit of grapefruit, with lots of pith. Resiny notes that settle as it warms. Slight tropical notes from the Amarillo hops. Crisp and relatively light for an IPA. Slick palate.

Had on tap at thirsty monk. Another good one from these guys. Pours a clear orange color with good head retention. Full on citrus on the nose and palate without being totally overpowering. Good use of "top secret hops" to balance it out. Pretty light bodied- perfect for spring. The added citrus zest and puree give it an almost creamy mouthfeel and a tartness that is different from hops alone. Really works.

Pours a pretty clean golden amber with one finger of off white head. Nose shows black pepper and stone fruit with some alcohol and juicy fruit. Nice hoppy flavor with peppery notes and juicy fruit. Medium light bodied with a dry finish.

Growler from the source, spring break 2014. Aroma wafts across the room. Dark orange almost red color. Orange, tangerine, tropical fruit and citrus aromas. Much of that is the same in the flavor and very enjoyable. Big bold hop flavors but all working together with a smooth caramel malt profile. Touch bitter on the finish. Good malt to give it some heft. One of the better IPAs I have had in a while.

On tap at Natty Greenes in Raleigh. Pours a hazy orange with a thick creamy off-white head. Aroma of hop spices, garlicky hops, grassy hops, faint citrus and fruity hops. Flavor of tart citrus hops, tart citrus pulp, grapefruit, grassy hops, sweet fruit, bitter lime. Tasty, fruity, excellent IPA. I like the addition of the blood orange- adds nice pulpy citrusy notes and tart bitterness. 7/4/8/4/15 (3.8/5)

Pint at Brewpub. Good aroma sweet. Citrus. Orange. Lemon. Sugar. Jazzed reddish Orange. Good head initially faded. Spotty lace. Sweet bitter flavor. Medium bodybody. Creamy mouthfeel. Sweet bitter finish. Good stuff. Aroma best part. Flavor more bitter. Less zesty.

Draft at the brewery. Pours a clear orange with a finger of soft, cream colored head. Notes of grass, florals, herbs, blood orange, grapefruit zest, and tropical fruits. Light-medium bodied, with a juicy, faintly tart mouthfeel and moderate soft carbonation. Really nice IPA; I liked what the subtle tartness from all the fresh citrus does.

>> Pours clear orange, dense rocky head emerges. Good lacing. Nose is orange peel, grapefruit rind, mild cheese, fresh flowers, open up to blossom/nectar. Taste is clean, piney, lightly bitter. Dry, no sugar in finish. Solid all around.

Taster on tap at Wicked Weed during RBWG. Clear orange color. Thin off-white head. Little dots and ropes of lace. Good darker orange zest in the aroma, some citrus pine. Pretty spicy hop, moderate bitter taste, zesty sweet taste. Medium to bigger body. Lighter, kind of soft, smooth carbonation. More dry finish. Very light bite. A decent fruited IPA.

Served at the brewpub. Pour was amber with excellent clarity and a good head. Lots of hop aroma and flavor, with just mild bitterness. Addition of grapefruit zest seems to affect the aroma but has minimal affect on the flavor. Exceptional fruity/hoppy aroma.
