COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
5.8%, this is the first blended release by Wicked Weed. Saison Da Funk is a blend of our Saison II with 1/2 barrel of our Genesis blond sour. The result is a deeply complex yet bright and crisp Saison. Tart and fruity up front, a hint of a barnyard, musty hay, and fresh earth in the finish. The tradition and art of blending, although often overlooked in craft beer is something we will be using to create the most complex and flavorful ales we can. Let your palate be your guide!

Draft pour from the brewery. Looks tasty enough, but the favors are confused and not really funky at all. Slightly rotten fruit notes, earth, mild tea, a bit of hops and a touch of pepper. This was my least favorite of the day.

On tap at the brewpub (basement). Pours a hazy amber orange a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a decent amount of funk with grassy hops and a hint of sourness. Flavor has earthy grains and grass with a bit of dryness and tart light fruits.

I gotta say, I’ve been impressed with Wicked Weed in general, and this beer was no exception. Smells fruity, almost candyish. Taste is, y’know, good. Really good. Fruity melon and tangy citrus, some white wine and black pepper. Vary enjoyable.
