COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Drawing inspiration from an Old Fashioned cocktail recipe and the Gentlemenís Clubs where the cocktail was first served over 100 years ago, this collaboration beer brings together two breweries from opposite ends of the country and ingredients from the home states of both breweries. Using an Old Ale recipe as the base beer, Gentlemenís Club was brewed with cherries and oranges, Alchemy, Sorachi Ace and Pacifica hops, and hand-selected specialty malts to mirror the qualities typically found in an Old Fashioned cocktail. The beer was aged on three different woods: bourbon barrels, rye whiskey barrels and new oak spirals, resulting in three unique versions of the beer, each offering a slightly different take on the same age-old recipe.

Copper pour with a white head. Aromas of orange peel and oak. Flavor is similar. I donít get much cherry or lemon but the orange and oak are there. Not bad.

This beer pours a clear amber-copper color with a medium foamy off-white head that diminishes steadily to a film. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of fruit, oak and caramel. Medium to full body with flavors of oaky bourbon, earthy hops and sweet fruit. The finish is oaky with a sweet and spicy fruit aftertaste. Above average overall.

Draft... Pours clear and deeply amber with a mid-sized, fluffy, white head. Great retention. As with the other versions, this beerís aroma is almost too subtle to describe. All I can really pull from my glass of this version are mild notes of toffee and white oak. Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and restrained carbonation. The flavor is a bittersweet fusion of toffee and hops intermingled with an enjoyable white oak component. As with the other two versions, there is no alcohol heat here and it finishes malty and mildly bitter. This treatment is much better than the other two. However, the base beer remains reminiscent of an Old Fashioned cocktail and I donít like Old Fashioneds at all. Again, this is the best of the three treatments.

Pours an amber orange with a beige head and sweet fruity, woody aroma. Taste is sweet as well, with wood, oak, vanilla, cherry and fruits leading to a sweet, dry finish. Another nice entry in the series

650ml bottle into a shaker glass; served cool. Date on the bottle is 30 May 13. Aroma: This beerís aroma reminds me of orange pastries; marmalade on danishes, orange cookies, etc. Lots of orange. This beerís aroma has a large wood presence. Quite nice, reminds me of dessert, or breakfast. Appearance: This beer has a rust-amber colored body. This beer has a light+ amount of haze. This beer has a creamy, thick, persistent head. This beer leaves a thick lace. Taste: This beer has flavors of cream, oak, orange, dough, and cookies. This beerís higher alcohol content is not obvious in the flavor. Palate: This beer has a medium+ body. The texture is creamy and smooth. The finish is quite short and ends on bread-y sweetness. Overall: Quite nice--Iíve never had an Old-Fashioned cocktail, but this beer is tasty and delicious. I really enjoyed it!

Bottle @ The Lets do a Chris O tasting. Pours amber, both fruity and oaky on the nose, taste wise orange and lemons to the fore. Its nice but everything in the bear stands alone, this needs to come together more.
