Bottle: Caramel orange pour with a foamy light tan head. Aromas of toffee and grapefruit. The flavor is a wonderful balanced roasted citrus flavor. It’s one of the best beers I have tried from the widmer bros label. Nice middle of the road, solid drinker.

Bottle. Perfumy, floral hop aroma. Similar to Widmer Hop Side in aroma. Clear amber body with a thin off-white head. Following the Hop Side I was concerned that a lower alcohol, lower flavor beer might be a little subdued but I’m really impressed with this. Session qualities with a slight bready finish. Really nice.

Quite malty with a caramel sweetness, full with hints of butterscotch. Thin at first, but builds quickly. Hops are sidelined.

A slightly hazy, reddish-gold pour with a white head. The aroma is fruity and floral with notes of strawberry and orange. It has a medium body with a smooth texture and average carbonation. The taste is mildly sweet with slightly more bitter finish.

Bottle. Not the best Pale Ale I’ve had. Yellow in color. Good head. Taste was like hay, some light citrus. Aroma was weak with a slight straw and citrus smell.

Type: 12-oz. bottle Glass: Lake Placid Pub & Brewery pint glass From: Vons in Montecito (Santa Barbara), Calif. Price: $12.88 for a variety 12-pack (w/ Vons card) Purchased: July 4, 2013 Consumed: July 4, 2013 Misc.: Born on April 22, 2013 Poured a caramel orange hazy color with three fingers of frothy khaki white head. Nice layer of lacing along the sides of the glass. Good retention all the way down. Smelled a lot of hops from the get go. Got citrus, pine, lemon, orange rind and floral. Also sugary notes. Tasted tangerine, orange, orange rind, peach, floral notes, rye, iced tea, lemon, orange cream and grass. Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt fruity finish. A pretty good beer. I was kind of wavering on a few ratings, but I’d have it again.
