3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Malt & Vine. Pours clear copper with a slight white head. Aroma seems very floral with a possible citrus touch. Flavor starts very floral and then develops fruit that seems tropical. Then a little caramel is detectible. The malt’s a little unroasty for an APA, and tho it’s nicely hoppy, it’s not very bitter. On the other hand the bitter builds with time. Odd and tasty ale.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Clear amber body with a short white head. Juicy maraschino cherry / pear / fruit cocktail nose with lighter hints of tropical bubble gum and pine sap; leafy and grassy at times, and a little musty and sweaty game-y (animal hair), but that character seems to shapeshift back into a more typical Cracklin’ Oat Bran / bread / grain / toffee Caramel, Munich and Vienna malt character. Sweet and oily with medium carbonation. Nothing to change your world here, just a lot of resins and juicy hops and a typically-rough Widmer malt texture with their grating artificial carbonation. Chalky + sugary = sweet tart candies in the finish.
