Copper coloured. Minimal head. Light malt nose with strong coffee scent. Dry roast coffee flavour. Hint of bitter chocolate in the finish.

Draft at the brewery restaurant pub in Portland. Amber color with a medium white head. Hoppy with malt overtones. Floral hints in the background. Nice balance. Good brew.

harlequinn (2744) - Tacoma, Washington, USA - JAN 10, 2006
This was good, nothing special but really tasty. Amber coloring with a foamy white head. Floral hop aroma, with some nice sinewy malty richness, and sweetness. Nice clean and dry finish.

(Draught, Widmer Gasthaus) Pours a mahogany body with a small off-white head. Aroma of malt, florals, and grass. Flavor of hops and some roastiness with a clean, dry finish.

slimweebs (163) - Los Angeles, California, USA - OCT 23, 2005
Nothing special, but felt hearty and full bodied. The flavor was not complex, but was definitely drinkable. Tasted a lot of malt, fairly sweet. Probably wouldn’t buy again.

On tap. Nothing great, but nothing horrible. Sweet, and a little bit charcoal at the end. Nice coloring, but not their best offering.

3fourths (6943) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - AUG 11, 2004
UPDATED: JUL 23, 2006 The flavor sets up with some fresh oats, bread, roasted corn, some ham even... with a little touch of smoke as well. A good festive tasting beer, reminds me of cold weather and leaves turning colors. Mild nose, a little nutty.

Tap@Widmer. Sweet, thin and grainy, light grassyness and fizz, crisp and bland.

Dark orange. Very, very sweet (a trend in Portland "alt" beers). But this has a nice caramelly base that wins out and perhaps a glimmer of smoke to boot.
