Commercial Description:
One of the first dark beers that Widmer has made. A true Swartz bier. Hints of coffee and roast notes balance the right amount of hops.

Widmers offers up this porter of Perle & Tettnanger hops and Chocolate, Caramel, Black and Roasted malt as well as malted wheat and Altbier yeast. Unique aroma like coffee/chocolate and beer blended together.

On tap at Widmer Gasthaus in Portland, OR--Deep, dark black-brown and roasty with a small beige head. Very thick for a schwartz beer. Very enjoyable. Chocolate and malt notes danced on my tongue and warmed my gut. Very nice.
