On tap at the brewery. Pours a cloudy orange color with a large white head. A big bready spicy nose. The flavor is strong banana esters, yeast, a bit of bready toast, some sweet sugary malts. Quite nice.

Aroma of wheat, tropical fruits and a yeasty finish. The taste is yeast, wheat, citrus and tropical notes in the finish. Thin bodied, low carbonation.

On tap Widmer, pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings pungent notes of clove, followed by banana. Flavour is very smooth and balanced, with lots of clove and banana balancing each other out. Dry and vibrant - correctly made to style. Very nice hef.

Nice murky golden pour w/ a thin white head that leaves little lacing. The aroma is an awesome blend of Belgian spices. The taste carries over most of the aroma flavors but finishes just a tad plain & a touch watery. Overall though, it’s still a very nice beer!

Je l’ai bu dans la bouteille quand je faisait le camping... C’était bonne. Il avais les clous de girofle, du levure allemand et c’était aussi un peu fruité. Ca va valoir la peine la prendre encore, mais dans une verre!

Pours a cloudy yellowish orange color, small off white head, looks like a hefe. Aroma is wheat spice and sweetness, hefe yeast good balance of banana and clove, touch of lemon, fresh malt. Style appropriate light sweetness, good fresh grain flavor, a little spice. Light to medium feel, pretty normal carbonation, probably should be higher but it’s a bar tap. Solid hefe, not going to blow anyone away but it’s easy to drink and tasty.

This is billed as being part of a series of experimental beers. It’s a hefeweizen. I don’t have anything against the style but making one hardly makes your brewery a bastion of experimentation. I guess it is a bit on the strong side. It’s a cloudy orange beer and pretty much headless. Kinda just looks like I poured myself a glass of slightly muddy water. This is very much a yeasty banana-centric hefe and it is pretty well done aside from the fact that it is a little bit oversweet and heavy. Because of this, it doesn’t really have the light but creamy texture that makes this style so great. There is at least a firm enough bitterness in the finish to bring some balance though so I guess points for effort. This works OK I suppose but I wish they would have either made it a bit dryer or upped the gravity to be a weizenbock or something. Where it sits now is kind of an uncomfortable balance.
