COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our take on the traditional Bavarian Hefeweizens that inspired Kurt and Rob to brew the Original American Hefeweizen in 1986.

~Aroma of banana, clove, vanilla, and wheat, light hoppiness ~Pours a hazy straw color with quickly disappearing white head. ~Well balanced flavor of, banana, clove, bread and candy like sweetness. ~medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel, with medium high CO2, lingering bready banana yeasty finish. ~Very smooth hefeweizen. I personally like them a bit more assertive. Likely better if fresher. Possibly buy again if on sale and in a six pack. Otherwise I would go for a German Hefe in a large bottle.

Bottle. Pours a hazy earthy yellow with a white head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has a rich wheat note with a hint of sweet banana and growing clove notes. Flavor showcases the wheat as well with only a bit of sweetness and clove.

Aroma is bubblegum, wheat and a hint of sweetness. The flavor is bubblegum, wheat, mild sweetness/cookie dough and a slightly tangy/mostly smooth finish. Why they didn’t call this Hefeweizen as opposed to the original which wasn’t I don’t know, but it was a solid hefe either way.

12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured cloudy, golden in color, small white head. Aroma of clove and fruit, some bread in there too. Taste of citrus fruit, clove, nice crisp finish; slight bitterness from hops. Nice and refreshing.

maxwelldeux (3069) - Everett, Washington, USA - MAR 3, 2014
Bottle. Pours a darker golden color with a moderate white head on it. Nose has a bit of citrus in there over top of a rather earthy yeast. Taste is actually a little sweet up front and remains mildly sweet throughout, with some citrus coming through subtly. It’s OK, but nothing special for me.

Jhackmeister (11) - Washington, USA - MAR 1, 2014
Bottle- from CBA Explorer 12 pack. Pours a bright golden tan with a characteristic foamy white head. The aroma is classic German Hefe notes of banana and clove. The flavors match the nose with slight biscuit notes from the malt along with creamy wheat. Overall, a very well done German Hefe from a brewery that defined the American version.

Type: 12-oz. bottle Glass: Mug From: VONS in Normal Heights (San Diego), Calif. Price: $15.99 (w/ VONS card) for a variety Redhook/Kona/Widmer 12-pack Purchased: Feb. 21, 2014 Consumed: Feb. 22, 2014 Misc.: Born on date of Dec. 12, 2013 Poured a golden greenish hazy color with 2-to-3 fingers of creamy white head. Light sporadic spots of lacing along the sides of the glass. Below average retention. Smelled banana, cloves, caramel, kiwi, grape, green apples, honey, wheat, grass and faint Circus Peanuts. Tasted pretty close to the smell, which was a good thing. Got cloves, banana, caramel, green apples, kiwi, honey grass, wheat and light Circus Peanuts. Light body. Oily-to-thin texture. Average carbonation. Long, crisp, refreshing finish. Just a fantastic hefeweizen. I am actually pretty damn happy I bought this variety pack.

Not bad. It was very tasty, yet not too harsh. I managed to drink 3 of these in about 1 hour.

Pint from Growl Movement in S.Salem. $5. In appearance this is a very murky golden yellow with a small white head. Bubblegum, sweet over-ripe bananas, cherries and clove lovely lovely aromas. Taste is similar to the aroma( thank goodness) with a little more spicy clove. Luxuriant mouthfeel..medium with low carbonation..great. LIke many have said why oh why is this not the flagship instead of the lame version?

Pour is a cloudy blonde with a small white head. Aroma is corriander and clove. Kind of a surprise in a good way. Flavor is lots of wheat esters some bubblegum and banana. Maybe a touch watery but this was overall and pretty kickass hefe. I hope this makes it into their full lineup.
