jkwalking05 (1483), Arlington, Texas, USA Feb 19, 2009 Amber in color with a small off-white head. Aroma is heavy in hops. Taste is the same with some floral and grassy notes. Tmoney99 (4652), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Feb 10, 2009 Draft sample at Freakin Frog, Las Vegas.
Poured a hazy copper color with an average creamy off-white head that was mostly diminishing and had good lacing. Good allspice and citrus hoppy aroma. Medium body with slick dry texture. Moderate well balanced smooth flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration.
Good holiday brew. Cavie (1317), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Feb 8, 2009 Extremely hoppy. Taste is obscured by the amount of spice. Leaves a bitter aftertaste. Kenbeer30 (41), Texas, USA Feb 3, 2009 12oz bottle. This beer pours a rich red copper. Reasonable head that melts to a consistent thin covering over the top of the beer. Some lacing, but not alot. The nose is spiced flowers. Very nice hoppy smell, expectation is that this will be an over-hopped holiday beer. Then the taste. What a balance. Expectation is IPA level hops, but the taste brings in the smooth sweet malts. Hops are noticible, but not overbearing. The mouthfeel is nice, full, smooth. Palate is balanced and the finish is smooth. This beer gets MORE flavorful as it approaches room temperature. And the slightly elevated ABV makes this a truly good winter evening brew. Well done W. Bros. hamsterglory (48), Bryan, Texas, USA Jan 27, 2009 this was not as great as i wanted it to be. though hoppier than i expected from a christmas seasonal, the metallic overtones cancelled out the pure enjoyment of the flavor. the red appearance indicated a sweeter aroma while the coppery floral aroma prepared me for an IPA’s worth of fine hoppage. but neither happened. overall i found this a nice addition to the christmas line-up, but certainly not something i will run back to anytime soon. i’d take a widmer broken halo over a brrrr anyday of the week. arrogantb (695), Denver, Colorado, USA Jan 25, 2009 For some reason I decided to try this, good choice. Nice orange color, looks like SN Celebration. Smells and tastes piney, caramel, a hoppy beer but might as well be an IPA. I like the idea of hoppy reds/ipa’s during the winter, warming tasty with a bit of the caramel spice. Go buy Brrr, OB Gordon, Celebration, decorate your tree!

Aroma is citric hops and toasted and caramelly malt. Flavor is a bit lagery, lots of hops, and a decent yeasty note. danem (12), Bothell, Washington, USA Jan 22, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours a hazy tan amber with medium off white head which dissipates rather quickly. Aroma is typical sweaty yeast with pine notes. Flavor is dominated by bitter pine and citrus, surprisingly so after a rather plain aroma. Finishes surpriingly bitter as well. I wouldn’t call this an amber, but I like the pale ale characteristics. Good stuff, will look for this next winter.
