UPDATED: NOV 25, 2012 Dark ruby color. Small white head. Has a faint cherry in the aroma. A bit of candy sweetness in the taste. Not too bad, a little heavier and sweeter than most Ambers, more like a light barleywine.

Sample at a tasting at Systembolaget in October 2012. Slightly hazy amber with a small head. Sweet aroma and taste of dried fruit, hops, light spices and with notes of alcohol. The finish was quite bitter.

Decent sized off white head, aromas of light caramel and pine. Light amber in color. Sips very crisp and smooth with minimal caramel malts but decwnt piney hops notes. Relatively average all the way around. Had better Widmer beers but I have had much worse.

Amber. 3-finger off-white head. Fades slowly. Cascade bitterness, hints of spices on the nose. Taste is pretty up front American hops, hint of candied sugar and some fruits.

Pretty enjoyable. Like an easy drinking barley wine. Bit bit malty, a bit bubbly, sweet but with a little bright citrus.

tap - Pours amber orange and has a pleasant citrus accented aroma. It tastes moderately bitter, definitely on the high end of bitterness for the style, with a little caramel backing leading into a crisp bitter finish. It’s medium bodied and quite tasty.

very nice ale i drink it room temperature and chilled. as described there is a nice tasty building malt flavor and a pleasant hop of light pine and citrus near the finish. the finish is ripe with caramel and sweet while the mouthfeel is smooth with just a sudsy roll of the hops. no heavy alcohol in my estimation and it seems to age decently well.

Pours amber with a fully receding off-white head. Notes of toffee, caramelized wort, orange peel. Full bodied, sweet, soft carbonation.

Widmer Brothers Brrr Seasonal Ale is a very clear, sparkling copper ale topped with a dense, light beige foam that has outstanding retention and lacing. It has a rich pine aroma with sweet caramel in the nose. It’s pretty full bodied, very smooth and foamy. The finish is clean and nimble. It tastes pretty bitter and a little sweet. The balance is really nice. Pine resin is the loudest flavor. The bitterness turns to something more like juniper by the time the caramel sweetness emerges just after the swallow. This one kind of took me by surprise. It’s a pretty serious beer and it’s really easy to drink.
