12oz bottle split. Ruby amber-brown, filtered. Thin, oily head. Interesting candied amber malt aroma. This is a pretty solid Amber, in my opinion. Medium bodied, quite well balanced. Mild hoppiness and a toasty amber-vanilla thing going on. Incorporates the alcohol quite well. Really solid Winter Ale, well executed.

Bottle. Pours a medium brown with light off-white head. Nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of sweet caramel malts. Flavor is of sweet malts and piny hops. One of the best ambers I’ve had in awhile.

This has a nice reddish amber color with a thick white head. Aroma is of malts, hops, rye, some leaves and perhaps a little nutmeg. Flavor is of malts, caramel, hops, rye, toffee, and ever so slight nutmeg. Leaves a big hop/rye finish.

The aroma is very nice with caramel malt with both astringent and citrusy. There is also some cardboard. The appearance is amber with a medium head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is smooth. Overall a decent beer but nothing more.

This is good but the beer has a medium malty palate and a very hoppy taste. This is not the spicy malty beer that one would expect. Still enjoyable

Nice balance of spice, citrus and pine hops with sweet caramel malt. Very lightly bitter aftertaste keeps me coming back for more.

Bottle. Copper with a short, foamy tan head. Hoppy aroma with sweet malt notes and caramel. Big citrus notes along with spicy hops. Taste dwells more on the sweeter and maltier side of things. Lots of caramel, light toffee, chewy malt, dark bread, citru notes and spicy hops. Body is medium and rather chewy. There’s a soft, creamy carbonation. Ends with more big caramel notes, malt, citrus, light pine, spicy hops and toffee notes. Tasty!

a rich yet dry spiced beer, dark malts are kept dry by a large earthy presence, light spices add character without making it an overly spiced holiday ale,

bottle NOV 5 11 dated-pours hazy amber dark orange with a fizzy and soapy slightly darker than egshell head. nose of slightly dank hops, carmel malt, lite diacytl and cleaner. not bad minus the lite diacytl. flavors start out sweet malt, almost too sweet but followed by a blast of piney/grapefruity hop cones. lite alcohol apparent and lots of candy malt sugary notes alongside the piney hops. it all comes together right at the end. somewhat unbalanced, but still somewhat interesting nonetheless. a fairly good beer from this brewery, which in recent years, has made some decent stuff i must say. One of the better macro micro breweries.

Pours a reddish brown with a tiny white head that fades away too quickly. Aroma is citrus hops, pine trees, and caramel. The taste is hoppy but not very bitter. Citrus hops well balanced with caramel malt. Tasty.
