Clear reddish amber with one inch of white head that had decent retention. Moderate amount of sticky lacing is left on the glass surface. Strong aroma of hops. Citrus and pine dominate. Caramel malt is pretty strong and sweet. A faint hint of alcohol in the end as well.

Bad day. Found beer. Drank beer. Good beer. Day better. Out of beer. Day back to the way it was. Good beer but not enough in the bottle.

I had this on draft at Out of the Park Pizza in Anaheim Hills, CA. Iím in the minority on this one: I didnít care for it. There was some other flavors along with the hops that just didnít taste good to me.

Sweet, candied aromas. Clear red/amber color with an initially foamy white head that settles down quickly. Dried fruits and cherry with a caramel sweetness at the front followed by a woody, roasted dryness and then an earthy, pithy bitterness. Not thick but with a creamy texture throughout. Finishes dry and bitter. This is a very nice winter ale.

bottle. decent hop aroma with some bread malts. slight hop bitterness but gets overwhelmed by the strong peppermint/spruce finish. not my favorite amber or winter seasonal by far.

Poured into my samual adams glass. This was a very nice Amber ale. Noticeable hops on the nose stood out more than most Ambers. Also bitterer than most, made this an enjoyable beer! Still finished malty sweet like a Amber, but overall delicious!

12 oz bottle. Darker brown poor. Malty but fairly light in body. Good hop aroma but not as much in the taste of the beer.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Crisp deep amber coloured body with a touch of a copper glow at the bottom, with a thick, two centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of malt, caramel, nuts and a touch of earth - nothing unexpected at all for the style. Medium-bodied; Assertive flavour of metal, earthy malt, astringent and slightly resiny hops, deep alcohol and a touch of pit fruit sweetness. Aftertaste shows the alcohol warmth really coming through with a touch of hops and a lot of metallic notes and bitterness really deep on the palate. Overall, a strong and pungent beer that I really wasnít expecting. The flavours donít work so well and leave the mouth very bittered mostly from the metal, but a touch from the hops. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in Manassas, Virginia on 19-January-2012 sampled at home in Washington on 09-February-2012.

12oz bottle in a shaker. Pours amber with a thick, cream-colored head. Aroma of caramel and sweet malts, some grains, and some spiciness from the strong hops. Flavor about the same, more interesting than most red ales. Average texture. A decent beer.
