1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
This is more a reflection of my personal tastes than the quality of the beer. I’m not a fan of reds and that’s about it.

Pours a clear amber color with great lacing. Aroma of caramel and spice with a very bitter hop flavor with hint of spice and sweetness. Decent.

Hops forward for style. Strongly reminiscent of Sam Adams Noble Pilsner. Getting a hint of the caramel malts and a hint of red ale type characteristics, but not the sweet candy taste advertised on the label, which is probably for the best- too many sugary tasting seasonals this time of year IMO.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Serving: Bottle from Wegmans Leesburg. It pours a ruddy color with a small off white head. Caramel nose with a little a little spiciness to it. A little sweet up front with a little fruitiness and a slight citrus hop note. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Not too bad.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Drinkstore, Dublin
Light caramel brown, clear, frothy off white head that dissipates, some lacing. Aroma of brown caramel malts, soft sweet toffee, slight nuttiness. Taste of caramel malts, toffee, brown sugar, some bitter resinous hop, some soft red berries, toasted malt, mainly malty, soft flavours, alcohol well hidden. Palate medium carb and body, smooth. Finish of sweet caramel malts. Overall it comes across as a malty strong red ale, and is really easy going for the 7.2%.

On tap @ Murphy's. Malty aroma with a bare hint of hops. Tan head with medium bubbles. Clear light brown color. Good balanced malt and hop flavor.

Pretty straightforward amber ale. Not much jumps out as a seasonal other than the name.

Great winter warmer, nice red cooler, not to much winter warmer burn and just the right amount of hop biterness to make any hop head happy

From a seasonal sampler 12-pack, only one of which I’d categorize as a traditional holiday ale. This seems to be a re-purposed hoppy red ale. It doesn’t have IPA level hopping, but you can taste them against a red background with some caramel and other specialty grains. Doesn’t feel like 7%. Good lacing down the glass. Nice beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear amber with a decent tan head that lingers around. Strong hop aroma of citrus. Good amount of hop bitterness in this one with some sweetness from the malt. Lingering hop finish.
