Citra hops lend their name to this interpretation of a Golden Ale. But thatís not all they bring to the party. Their striking citrus aroma and thirst-quenching flavor are the perfect pairing for soft malt notes. Together they create a beer thatís full in flavor and uniquely refreshing.

On draft at The AXE! Typical golden golden with a quickly dissapearing white head. not much to get excited about there. Aroma is very citrusy, fruity, hops. orange peel. Citrusy hops dominate the taste but isnít overly bitter. Very good. Has a nice sweet finish thatís short and doesnít linger too long. Light fizzy and refreshing. Good summer brew with enough flavor to keep you interested.

UPDATED: OCT 30, 2011 Pours a clear light golden, slightly yellow color. Aroma is of orange, hops, grapefruit, and peaches. Flavor is of orange, wheat, hops, peach, and some grass. Not too carbonated also. Leaves a citrus hop finish. This one seems to be a better summer style beer out there. It possesses a slight earthiness thatís usually not present in the terrible summer style brews.

Light but full of flavor. Hints of citrus. An excellent beer great for hot weather, easy to drink with character

Bottle at Brew Haven festival. Musty wheat and citrus aroma. Yellow with a moderate white head. Pretty one dimensional malt flavor... just didnít really get the citrus out of it.

16 ounce pint - $6.25 at Taco Mac in Woodstock, Georgia.

Appearance: Fairly clear, yellow body with a surprisingly scant, white head.

Smell: Not just delicate, but faint nose of lightly malted barley and a vague, shaky impression of lemon.

Taste: Lightly grainy barley flavor, low sweetness, then, a minute resinous, then some citrus oil if the citrus component was very, very weak. Subdued bitterness. Soon, the hop character drops away, then, the malt character drops away, and youíre left with a lonely, empty finish.

Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Overall: Thereíre loads of other blondes Iíd prefer to grab over this one. Itís a bit of a snoozer, even for just a mild, meager blonde ale.

Slightly hazy golden coloured body with a bright orange glow and a very thin, less than 0.5 centimetres thick off-white head. Aroma of fake orange scents, such as Tang, some light malt, a ton of sugars, a very light hoppiness and a very odd fake smell. Medium-bodied; Assertive bitter flavour at first that dies down and shows some odd orange tastes, a mild dryness and a bit of a hoppy note near the end. Aftertaste shows some lighter tastes with a bit of herbal flavours and a dry, yet nice in the summer, maltiness. Overall, not such a great beer, but not overtly horrible or bitter. Okay for the summer, but not really worth drinking for a good beer. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 20-July-2011 sampled at home in Washington on 08-August-2011.

Bottle; poured a dull gold color with an average size white head. Aroma of earth, lemon, bread and funky BO. Flavor was milder than the aroma; bread, honey and lemon with a bit of earth. Good for style.

12 ounce bottle, bottled on June 29, 2011. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a clear gold color with about an inch off-white head. The head sticks around for a while, and thereís a good amount of lacing left on the glass, too. Aroma is citrus (tropical fruit, lemon peel) and floral hops, along with some bready malt. The brew tastes like citrusy (tropical fruit, grapefruit) hops, light floral hops, bready malt and some orange peel. Mouthfeel/body is light, itís a bit creamy, crisp and clean, and is well carbonated. Itís also very smooth and easy to drink. At 4.3% ABV, it wouldnít be hard to drink quite a few of these in a session. Itís a good beer for a hot day, I think I might have just found my new summer brew!
