Citra hops lend their name to this interpretation of a Golden Ale. But that’s not all they bring to the party. Their striking citrus aroma and thirst-quenching flavor are the perfect pairing for soft malt notes. Together they create a beer that’s full in flavor and uniquely refreshing.

(12 ounce bottle - snifter glass) Tastes of wheat malt and an interesting spiciness which could be spices or the citra hops. Dry spicy finish.

Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks Tom L. Hazy yellow. Nice aroma of fruity hops, slightly stale but still decent. Dry-ish flavor with faint sweetness, fruity hops and mild bitterness. Light to medium-bodied. Refreshing.

Bottled sample from Happy Harry's. Pours straw color. Bubbly. Very citrusy. Liked this a lot. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Slightly hazy gold with a fluffy head. Aroma of tropical fruit salad, lots of guava and papaya, sweet and fruity. Taste light and well balanced, lemony, and crisp. Slight over-carbonation prevents the palate from being truly smooth, but overall a great summer beer.

"Great for what it is - a tasty hopped up 4% session brew. Soft citrus peel and tropical fruit in the aroma and flavor. Sure goes down easy. Reminiscent of new belgiums hoptober. Good stuff."

Transfer from BA review on 7-23-13- Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The brew pours a nice crystal clear golden amber color with a billowy 1.5 finger white head. The head fades over a moderate amount of time to leave a decent level of streaky lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma is grainy and bready with hints of a grassy hop smell. Along with these aromas are some light citrus and floral notes. Taste – The taste begins with a smoother malt and biscuit taste. As the taste advances it gains more and more graininess with some flavors of a light lemon and grassy hop coming to the tongue. By the end the grassiness gets quite a bit stronger and is joined by a bit of a haylike flavor to leave a crisp bready flavor on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is quite thin and crisp with a carbonation level that is rather average. Both are quite appropriate for the more grainy and grassy flavors of the brew and make it quite refreshing. Overall – It is a rather refreshing brew overall but nothing all that out of the ordinary. A good go to for a more session style on a nice warm day.

Pours a slightly hazy yellow with smallish, but lasting white head. Sweet orange and grassy aromas. Malts come through in the tastes with initial citrus and caramel sweetness that quickly flattens out into a dull finish. Initially thirst quenching, them a bit blah.

Easy drinking wheat with a touch of orange. Not as thirst quenching as I would like it to be, but a nice easy summer drinker. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Widmer Brothers Gasthaus. Very light fruit, a bit grainy with mild hopping. Pale straw with a creamy little head. Flavors similar: light malt, touch of grain. Smooths out and flattens into light sweetness in mid palate. Thin and crisp. A bit pils-like. Nice enough, pleasant and refreshing.

On tap at Widmer, pours a clear pale blonde with a small white head. Nose is very subtle, with notes of floral hops in the back - not a whole lot more. Flavour is pretty spritzy, with sole soapy detergent notes and maybe some feint pistachio. Very boring and a bit off the mark. Not too good.

Part of a mixed 12 pack. Pour is cloudy pale straw, with a fluffy white, quickly dissipating head. Not much in the way of lacing.
Aroma is promising. Juicy grapefruity hops are prominent, with some pale malt mixed in.
Unfortunately, the flavor doesn’t back up the aroma. palate is thin and watery, hops are barely evident, and flavor is mostly sweet, with lemony finish. Lawnmower beer at best.
