Tap... Poured copper orange with a thick, eggy, fizzy head. Husky and grain-like. Some hop presence and bitterness, but ultimately clean and drinkable. Would be perfect on a warmer day rather than this freezing weather we’ve been having in PDX. Some green hop tone but a good amount of bready grains with earthy spices too.

The aroma is not unlike a cheap adjunct laden macro lager with dirt, yeast, and herbal hops. The appearance is light amber with a small head. The taste is really nice with malt, bread, fruit, and mild bitterness. The palate is smooth. Overall not a true common but a solid beer.

..or for January, also known as "Spring" in Texas. Crystal clear amber beer with a white head and good head retention. Light grassy malt aroma. Tingy sweet and grassy bitter flavor with a light character overall giving it that Spring character. Miles better poured into a glass than from the bottle but the body can get a little heavy so stick to bottles with this one. The lace is white and contiguous all around the glass.

On draught at Widmer Gasthaus. Amber clear like a lager but a little more hoppy. Refreshing and sessionable.

Tallahassee, Fl - ABC Fine Wine & Spirits - Betton - 12 oz bottle. Sparkling dark copper pour, light, but persistent off white head with a bit of lacing. Aroma has some nutty accents, a bit of toffee. Flavor is full bodied with some earthy notes, some toffee-like sweetness, a hint of licorice and some underlying nutty bitterness that makes this quite appealing. Mouthfeel is pleasantly sticky.

pours a clear pale amber with a small off-white head, and good lacing. smell is of grain, corn, some lemon, malt, and some hops. taste has a little bit of citrus, malt, hops, a little lagerish, and some grain. ends well balanced, refreshing, and more bitter than you would expect from a common.

Sampled on tap at GABF 2012. Pours a golden color with white head. Grainy, caramel, light noble hops, earthy flavors. Pretty drinkable. I wish more breweries would make California Common beers
