2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle @ weekly tasting thanks to Ansjelaah. Clear orange color, no head at all. Smell lightly malts maybe a touch of sweetness. Taste is hard to describe, cause there’s virtually no flavor at all. No idea what to say about this flavor wise.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
10/20/13. 12oz bottle from ABC in Tallahassee. Clear amber pour with a small khaki head. Sweet malty aroma, biscuit and caramel. The flavor is also on the sweet side, lots of biscuit and caramel, mild fruitiness. Meh.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle:   Amber, clear, moderate frothy off-white head, spotty lacing.   Faint toasted malt and whole wheat
bready aroma.   Very bready on the tongue, not heavy, lots of whole wheat, a little nutty, slightly mealy.   Body
and mouthfeel are moderate.   Soft toasted malt finish, lingering whole wheat and nutty notes.   Pretty pedestrian.
Nothing off, but sometimes a little too bready.   Prefer Anchor Steam as it seems a bit hoppier.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Lightly sweet toasty nose with herbal and citrus hop presence of a moderate variety. Pours orange amber, good clarity, thin head. Falvors of toasted malts, soft caramel sweetness, oranges and citrus hop notes, mildly spicy. Clean finish, easy to drink.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pretty amber beer, pleasantly active, with a nice pillowy head of off-white foam. The initial aroma is nice and woodsy, like a wet summer in the Pacific northwest. But this drinks with a more subdued earthy tone, more of a wet grassiness, tinged with a bit of almost smoky funk. (#5012, 5/9/2013)

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sampled on 3/18/2013. This California Common/Steam beer pours a medium orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head with good lacing. The aroma is bready and caramel, with some fruit and perhaps some hoppiness. A medium bodied California Common. The malts are caramel, bready and sweet. The hops are grapefruity and citrusy. Its quite hoppy for a steam beer, perhaps the Pacific Northwest treatment of the style. Decent carbonation. It does seem to be missing that full mouthfeel one usually has in a steam beer, but it makes up for that with a very nice hop profile. Nice session beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
