COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Deadlift Imperial IPA is unlike any Imperial IPA you’ve ever lifted from the beer aisle. It has the strong hop flavor you’d expect from an Imperial IPA but no heaviness that could weigh down your desire to take another sip. The unique flavor stems in part from Nelson Sauvin hops imported from New Zealand. Deadlift’s other component, a simple but fully braced malt backbone muscles up enough malty sweetness and caramel character to spot the incredibly robust hop flavor and aroma.

Deadlift Imperial IPA uses Nelson Sauvin hops from New Zealand’s best hop growing region: South Island’s Nelson. This region produces some of the most flavorful hops found anywhere. These hops have an intense citrus, fruity, berry-like aroma and flavor that makes them unique. The result will surely be a welcome workout for your taste buds.

Bottle from Sam’s Quik Shop, labeled instead as 924 Nelson Imperial IPA. Pours a burnt gold/orange with a thin but relatively tenacious white head. Nose is grapefruit, pith, peel and all. Some sweet malt and mild cat urine. All, Nelson Sauvin, you spicy bastard. Taste is a bit thin and sweet.

Sample at the 2012 Cincinnati Brew-haha, displayed as the "Nelson Imperial IPA". Slight hazy amber color. Nice, off-white head. Great fruity tropical hop aroma. Citrus sweet taste, a little bitter. Nice, light crisp carbonation. Drier texture. A tasty DIPA.

On draft at Pies and PInts Charleston called Widmer Nelson Imperial IPA. Pours pale yellow with small white head that dissapates fairly quickly. Little lacing, medium body, and hop aroma. Taste is grapefruit and some pine. This is good, alcohol is well covered.

Orange(amber) colour; small head; medium body (little creamy w/light carbonation); medium bitter finish; over all a good, easy-to-drink IPA. I tasted the beer alone (no food) in a tulip glass @ approx 50°.

22oz bottle. Rating #274. Clear dark gold color with a hint of orange and a big white head with a lot of lacing. Large fruity and citrusy aroma, Nelson hops really come through. Sweet citrus flavor, a bit astringent with a lasting aftertaste. (2132)

A clear orange amber body with a fast fading white head. Aroma had a nice caramel malt presence and good balance on both citrus hops and some pine. It wasn’t aggressive hopped, but it certainly had kick too it. Flavor was well balanced a good sweetness from the malts and just the right amount of hops to leave a bitter pine finish. It seemed a little too light on the palate but not enough to ruin the beer.

Color is orange red... Aroma is lightly of citrus hops... Flavor is surprisingly good, passion fruit notes throughout, citrus, finish is moderately bitter from citrus hops... Not overpoweringly hoppy... Fairly light body, really nice beer

Powerful IPA, with a good strong flavour. Lightly carbonated, pale amber in colour. Very nice, though also very potent.
