Got this in Ireland where we are miles behind the U.S. In terms of quality craft beer. Having said that of the dozens of good craft beer (mostly American) that I have sampled, Widmer brothers Nelson Imperial IPA (Irish Name for Deadlift) is one of the best I have come across. It has a caramel undertone without the sweetness and a strong hoppiness that I think is important fir a good IPA. A strong serious beer.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Botella de 33 cl en casa. 20-12-13.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
It’s hazy orange-golden with a creamy head. The aroma has fruity, hoppy notes of citrus, peach, pineapple, strawberries and malt. The flavor is sweet and slightly dry/bitter, especially towards the finish, it has notes of exotic fruits, berries, citrus and malt.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A: Copper ale with a single finger of white foam which falls quickly to a sheet of the same with a bulging central cap. Excellent clarity. Ring lace. Looks warm and somewhat inviting.
S: ruby red grapefruits, seriously like ruby red grapefruit juice. A hint of B.O. as well. Underlying dry and sweet malts.
T: Sweet and bitter with a spicy flavor. That yummy grapefruit is here, but more bitter and less intense. The flavor lacks a bit of the complexity of the nose, but is decent.
M: Middle of the road for body weight, a little aggressive on the carbonation. Semi dry finish.
O: Above average. Pretty decent stuff. Interestingly assertive as the grapefruit goes.
Serving type: bottle

Pours a golden amber color with a fluffy, off white head. Dank hop, citrus, caramel, biscuit and malt aroma. Citrus, caramel, hop, biscuit, floral, and malt flavors. Medium light body and medium carbonation. Lighter mouth feel than expected from the aroma. Moderate bitterness and a citrus finish.
