The Hype is for real!! This one is great. This is a classic true double IPA. Tastes very fresh. Very floral and pungent. Soft on the palate. Aftertaste is awesome. Sweetness is right on. Incredible enticing aroma.

It’s THE best beer I’ve ever had. I get a pack of 4 from the local liquor store ever week. I’ve microbrewed myself, tasted thousands of microbrew companies, and travelled to europe frequenting foreign beer, but the Nelson Imperial 924 series is THE best tasting beer I’ve had. I love it. It’s not too hoppy which I hate. It’s very malty and frothy. It’s got a good fullness flavor too. I love it, love it, love it!!!

Lucent amber, thin white head, sticky medium body, medium carbonation.
Aroma: very citrusy fruity hops, some caramel malt sweetness.
Taste: intense fresh citrus fruity hops, some caramel malt sweetness.
All about fresh hop aroma and flavor. The citrus element is very pacific northwest, and by that i mean grapefruit, but less bitter, and more like fresh palmelo, or grapefruit and tangerine, juice. My first experience with these hops (unless they’re in the SN southern harvest), and they are very nice.

Light, citrus aroma. Clear copper pour, thin white head. Average lacing. Absolutely delicious, grapefuity, citrus, hoppy flavor. Good malt backbone. 70% hops, 30% malt. Smooth taste. Lively taste. Delicious all around. Just the right fizz and warmth. Best drank when its 70 degress outside.

Wow. What makes this IIPA so amazing and memorable is the fact that they jumped up and decided to use the Nelson Sauvin hop. I swear it gives this beer a fairly strong blackberry seed-like flavor and aroma. Fortunately this beer is not just a one-trick pony, the malt is complex and has a touch of biscuit and medium caramel. The alcohol is smooth and hits you like a ton of bricks. Once in a while it’s really nice to drink an IIPA without feeling like I ran straight into a pine tree planted in an orange grove.
4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 sunnyridge (222) - USA - APR 6, 2010
One of my favorite smelling IPAs. This has huge citrus tones mainly grapefruit and some pineapple. I definitely get the hop aroma that the description claims. The palate is lighter but I think that actually compliments this beer. This IPA is delicate and artistic. Not a hulking goliath of an IPA, more like a beautiul assasin that kills you with finesse.

I am really starting to believe that there is no such thing as a bad imperial IPA! This one is absolutely fantastic - excellent hop/malt ratio with lots of great floral/citrusy hop aroma.

bottle. hazy orange under large, cream colored head. mandarin, apricot aroma with a hint of black pepper. palate is nothing short of incredible for this style by staying creamy with easy carbonation and a full body without being syrupy or overly sweet. 8.6% is completely hidden. flavors are peaches and apricots and maybe a touch of honey. awesome.
