With its unique citrus character, smooth drinkability, and distinctive hop character, Drifter Pale Ale is truly an original. Brewed with generous amounts of Summit hops, a variety known for their intense citrus flavors and aromas, Drifter has a taste unique to the Pale Ale category. True to style, the bittering hops are perceptible enough to give the beer a crisp, clean, quenching finish, yet also soft enough to keep the beer smooth and balanced. 2006 GABF Silver Medal Winner

UPDATED: MAR 8, 2009 This beer, no this beer, is full-on copper and an off-white head that lasts. Very impressive out of the shoot. Summit hops undoubtedly dominate the aroma, which is just ourageous and delicious. The flavor is mild but keeps a hold with the hops. The finish is undeniable grapefruit from the wonderful yeast strain they have found to brew this. This beer doesnít suck. Even better, Widmer, A-B, and Brown guys bought mine. Rating does not reflect free beer, rather this beer is good on its own. This beer is the best tasting beer for the money and a good value overall.

Beautiful strong floral, hoppy aroma. Clear appearance and despite the strong aroma the hops really donít kick you in the head, perfect level of hops for a pale ale. Well worth a gargle if you havenít tried it yet!

This is the best beer i have ever had as of right now. It has a great sweet aroma, and a good dark look in a frost mug. Taste is full of grapefruit which is what makes it so great. I acually could not stop drinking this beer and ended up kinda under the influence afterwards.

Pours clear amber with fluffy white head. Smells hoppy and malty, like citrus and almost caramel. Tastes bitter from hops and well malted. Medium-bodied with a creamy texture and little mouth-carbonation, Widmer Brothers Drifter Pale Ale finishes sweet and malty with slight bitter dryness at the very end.

Widmer Brothers Drifter Pale Ale is a very clear, sparkling, amber ale with a soft, thin, off white head that leaves nice lacing. It has a fresh hop aroma, like pine trees, sweet caramel and a light toastiness. Itís pretty light bodied and very smooth with a clean, dry finish. It has a lightly bitter, grassy, floral flavor. It tastes very tea like; very herbal. Itís very refreshing. Itís clean, but not weak. Itís very drinkable.

UPDATED: JAN 31, 2007 poured a rich red color with thin head. The piney citrus smell and taste make every drink of this beer supreme. Must try for anyone who can get ahold of it. Everything i wanted broken halo to be.

Clear honey-golden color. Icy wisp of lace. Decent pure white head. Smell is major sweet citrus and stone fruit hops; thick tangerine, blood orange, grapefruit. The malt is pale but not too prickly. Heavy tangerine hop flavor, with only a hint of other citrus. Rye malt flavor is roasted which adds dark balance. Smooth, silky feel; nearly perfect. This is a really impressive beer. Unexpectedly balanced and delicious.
