COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A creamy, flavorful Amber that’s smooth and easy to drink. Drop Top is fermented by an American Ale yeast to produce beer with a clean flavor and fruity aroma. The velvet texture is from the use of Honey malt and a touch of milk sugar. The Magnum bittering hops provide soft bitterness, while Simcoe, a newly developed hop variety, adds unique hop flavor and aroma.

Bottle from Belmont Party. Poured a clear dark amber color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Medium sour citrus and sweet malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Moderate bittersweet flavor with an medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Better than my expectations.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a medium white head. Good head retention and some lacing. Aroma of toasted malts, caramel and hops in the finish. The taste is grainy malts with some toastiness, tart notes, caramel and a leafy hop finish. Medium bodied.

Pours an amber color, nice looking beer. Mostly white head, decent size. Aroma is pretty nice with malts, hops, spice and maybe some sweet smelling notes. Flavor is malty but lacks some body and character. Not the worst, not even close to a top tier amber either.

UPDATED: NOV 6, 2006 Bottle... NTB Ernesto Festo ’06... Clear, light amber ale with a small, fizzy, off-white head. The nose is a bit restrained, but I pick up suggestions of apricot and white pepper. Perfectly balanced flavor with toffee and gentle, spicy hops. Medium-bodied with a milky mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Short, clean finish. Thanks to kenb for the bottle!

12oz bottle acquired in trade with cbkschubert (thanks!). Poured a medium oranged color with a smaller sized off white head. Had a light haze to it as well. Aromas of honey comb, citrus, and light caramel. Tastes of caramel, honey, citrus, and a little toasty. Thinner body.

Thanks to Homerwantsbeer for the bottle. This beer is a pale orange-amber color with a medium thin and bubbly off-white head that dissipates quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Mild malt aroma with underlying hops. Medium-bodied yet watery at times, with caramel malt, nut and light hops flavors. The finish is sweet and malty and short-lived, leaving just a hint of hops aftertaste. Yawn.

Medium copper clear appearance. Malty syrup aroma and flavor, nothing exciting, but not bad. Sour apples in the finish.
