A creamy, flavorful Amber that’s smooth and easy to drink. Drop Top is fermented by an American Ale yeast to produce beer with a clean flavor and fruity aroma. The velvet texture is from the use of Honey malt and a touch of milk sugar. The Magnum bittering hops provide soft bitterness, while Simcoe, a newly developed hop variety, adds unique hop flavor and aroma.

This ale poured a med amber colour with a big, frothy, off white head. No lacing. To the nose there are scents of gravy, malt and light caramel. First sip was smooth but a little watery with nothing really strong in its flavour but malt and very minute amount of hops. Finish is watery and lifeless but drinkable. Just nothing special.

Bottle from a mix pack. Nose has caramel and grains to it, though slightly off. Taste is a little sweet with toasty grains. Fine, but entirely meh.

Hard pour left an evaporating head.. no lacing .. crystal clear honey orange brew. Smell is turned toward yeasty fruits... lite toasted malts.. a touch of citrus and spicy malts.. Flavor is the same and not much to pick out of the mix.. lighter body than exepcted.. sessionable in a big way... I don’t really know what to say about this beer.. average across the board.. if you want a nice American Amber.... there are way better ones out there.

12 oz. bottle. Appearance: slight offwhite head, orange straw color, cloudy, ok lacing. Aroma: peat, straw, light fruitiness, roasted oats even. Palate: light body, soft carbonation, thin texture. Taste: sweet grain that lingers, tastes like oats to me, musty oats. Overall, pretty horrible beer.

honey malt and milk sugar? interesting. this is an above average amber, but not at the top. good slightly hoppy finish after the sweet malt up front. refreshing and worth a try if a bit simple."

Draft at the brewpub 6/30/2011. Clear golden color. Aroma of caramel. Taste is similar with a slight bitter finish. Plain.

Copper clear beer, moderate off-white head fades down to a stable collar. Good aroma, light and biscuit-y. Nice undertones in the taste, malty and relatively mild, errs towards thin but not bad. Palate is easy, good character. Not a gold medal - honorable mention.
