Ron (700), Rochester, New York, USA Jul 30, 2006 Flour City Brewfest ’06’. Suprised no rating the last year and a half on this. But it’s the only ESB for Widmer. It seemed like a amber brew. The hops did not overpower the malt. Slightly bitter finish. It was ok DA (2280), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA Dec 13, 2004 On nitro at the widmer brewery. This brew was really nice and smooh of the nitro tap, and although i generally don’t like nitro, some brews it really smooths out the tastes. Pours a light golden transparent amber with a creamy white head. Light toffee malt aroma, with just a touch of hops. Lighter malts up front in the taste with a nicely balanced bitter finish. There is also a bit of dustiness in the aroma, a bit earthy. Very smooth on the palate due to the nitro tap. BückDich (4497), Boise, Idaho, USA Feb 7, 2004 Nitro: Lots of creamy off-white head, bronze gold hue. Very light aroma, almost non-existant. the flavor is fresh with hops & balanced malt but still finishes very watery & standard. Musky, balanced, easy to drink. Murphy (1759), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Jan 14, 2004 Amazing head, two layers, one white and one gray. Never seen a beer do this before. Taste is all creamy and pretty mild. Not bad for a bitter.
