On tap at the Funky Buddha. Clear yellow pour with a fluffy white head. Citrusy/florally hop aromas. Nice balance of grapefruit/florally/citrusy hops and sweet caramel malts...

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at World of Beer (Tampa Palms). Pours a clear copper amber color. White head with great lacing retention along the glass. Tons of citrus and grapefruit hops in the aroma. Flavor has some initial candied sugar sweetness that is quickly followed by the expected hop bitterness. The high alcohol is fairly well masked compared to some double IPAs.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Growler from Hop City. Very nice nose on this one. All of the standard big citrus notes, decent sweet malt made for a candy like aroma too. Flavors were also quite sweet, lots of fruity citrus, pine and grass. Mouthfeel was nice and chewy, big, light carbonation. A very good double from a brewery that usually doesnít impress..

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours golden orange with a small white head. The aroma is huge fruity hops with lots of grapefruit, mango, peach, and berries. Very sweet and fruity smelling. The flavor is similar with potent fruitiness mostly berries, grapefruit, peach and bitter pine in the finish. Lots of caramel on the palate, but the hops are potent enough not to detract. The mouthfeel is thick and borders on syrupy. Probably the best Widmer beer Iíve ever had.

3.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
total hop bomb, very sharp bitterness, the beer says the bitterness is buried by the sweetness of the alcohol, but itís not buried by anything.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
OBF. Dark amber. Lots of citrus with some sticky malts. Pretty big beer, with a bit too much sweetness/alcohol. OK.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
OBF 2008. Heavily hopped grapefruit bomb, sharp bitterness, pithy and dry palate scraper. Smelled nice, but a bit to sharp in the bitterness for my tastes, I’d prefer more floral hop notes and less bittering hops, but you can’t please everyone and I know a lot of people really dug this beer.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
I had heard nothing of this beer, having missed the OBF. handing me the beer the bartender said "it’s 10 percent." i had him repeat it as it made no sense (loud htrash music playing in the Slow Bar (great place, looks fine and has gourmet sustainable food). This smells good, unqiue hop aroma, flike a forest with a few grapefruits, moist & green, can’t figure out what else, a ripe kiwi; and something almost musky, approaching leather. clear reddish amber with thin off-white head. first splash seems a little flat,t he ralize its the slightly oily weight of it, some hop realted. despite the hops, the balance is on the sweet side (which is characteristic of my own brews), but doesnt go overboard, even through a pint. Hint of maraschino, oak, swampy (but clean) hops. i keep drinking more to describe the taste thus getting less capable.
