Full Nelson Imperial IPA perfectly adorns the Hopheads of the world and will put your taste buds in the famous wrestling hold! You will feel the full effect of Full Nelson's bitterness that is partially buried by the sweetness of the alcohol and the various Caramel malts. The aroma will body slam you with citrus, grapefruit and berry like tones reached through this imported New Zealand hop variety. The Nelson Sauvin hop comes from Nelson, New Zealand and is growing in a region famous for Sauvignon grapes. Full Nelson will have you begging to be "Tapped Out"!

It seems I keep forgetting to rate these wider beers. I remember this beer as having a strong bitter hop taste to the point that the imbalance gave it a poor finish. Good but not great.

On tap and listed as Nelson’s imperial IPA., so first I thought this was from england. Big hoppy aroma with a combined nose of BO. Looks like pale lager. Big terrible green grapefruit rind impact on the taste buds. Nice lacing on myglass. Over the top and down the sides is the impact this has on my mouth. Lots of what seems to be fresh bitter citrus in ther. Some mild co2.

Draught at Capone’s: Aroma of citrus, pineapple, hops, malt, slight biscuit, and grapefruit. Poured amber/gold in color with a medium-sized, creamy, dense, off-white head that diminished but lasted throughout as a film on top of the beer, as well as around the edges. Hazy. Lightly sparkling. Excellent lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet and medium bitter. Tastes of hops, malt, citrus, grapefruit, resin, and fruit. Medium body. Dry texture. Average carbonation. Lightly sweet, medium bitter, hop, and resin finish. 9.7%ABV is completely hidden throughout.

Bottle. The look is deep golden in color, decent white head, and clear. The smell is grape, hops, berry, fruit, and wine. The taste is sweet, marshmallow, caramel, hops, fruits, Bertie’s, and ok.

OBF, tap... Poured reddish/orange with an off-white head. Hops on the nose. Some nice hops up front with caramel influenced malt. Coats the mouth nicely as it goes down.

Pours a clear golden orange on tap with fluffy off-white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of nice citrus and earthy notes from the hops, taste is a hop bomb with a hint of caramel malt back, finish is really bitter. Pretty solid, but nothing mind blowing.

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a snifter. The appearance had a fairly nice looking bronzed orange color with a one finger white to off white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. There was a light citrusy bittersweet refreshing tropical fruitiness of sorts in the smell. The taste was mainly bittersweet all the way through. On the palate, this one sat right at a medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was sharp but on par for the style and for me. Overall, pretty good DIPA I would have again.

Poured a perfectly clear golden orange, with a big fluffy bright white head. Great lacing and smells of citrus, grapefruit, and earthiness. Taste is bitter from the start to finish, sweet malt in the middle, and a touch of alcohol on the finish. Sticky mouthfeel and high carbonation. Not bad.
