Clear golden coloured body with a thin, fast-dying white head. Aroma of skunk, malt, light hops and a hint of sugars. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong malty flavour with some light sugars, a hint of hay and grass and very little else. Aftertaste shows mostly malt notes with a bit of sweetness and a solid bitterness, but no complexity and not much else. Overall, a decent beer to sample but not too great compared to others. Still, nice to try as I’ve never seen this on the East Coast. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Portland (downtown)), Oregon a few minutes ago on 11-April-2013 for US$2.99 sampled later in the day from my hotel room here in Portland.

22oz from Roth’s Vista Market in Salem. $2.79 I am a big Timbers fan so lets hope for the best. Clear light golden beer with a nice thick and frothy purest white head. Light honeyish, biscuity aromas,,touch of apple. Nice light honey/oat/wheat ..creamy wheat taste..slightly spicy very nice indeed Good mouthfeel ..thinnish but complex at the same time Nice Kolsch here reminds me of Reissdorf Kolsch.

Bottle... Poured clear golden with moderate white head. This was awesome. Super clean, great grain and bread flavors with a touch of citrus and earthiness. A fine Kolsh and one of the best American versions I have had. Foamy, mild thickness on the mouthfeel. Bready finish.

Bottle. Colour...clear golden yellow with a thick, pillowy off white head. Nose...the quintessential kolsch aromas of crushed hop leaves, cut hay and grain. Palate...moderately frothy with a quick bitter hit and a grassy hint that works its way into tones of dry earth and even a bit of jasmine flower on the finish. This may not be my favourite kolsch style ale, but its a damn fine effort nonetheless. Well done, Abe!

Love this beer and what it stands for! It is best consumed amidst thousands of sweaty compatriots dressed in Green and scarf-clad despite the weather. For the Rose City, Pints Up!
