UPDATED: APR 14, 2004 Bland. I agree with beandip when she says it tastes like a pilsner..lacks in the flavor area.

I think a lot of the ratings below are a bit harsh on this beer. It has a pleasant aroma and flavor (although admittedly they are weak), similar to Harpoon's UFO but lacking its citrus lemon tartness. However, this is what you'd expect from a hefeweiz. I'd prefer it if it had a better mouthfeel, but, other than that, its an acceptable wheat beer.

2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
I think this is a pretty bland, nothing great about it, hefeweizen. It pours with a cloudy pale golden body, as you would expect from a hefe, topped by a medium thick white head with a good amount of lacing. The aroma is pretty much non-existant, although some lemony wheaty notes were observed. the flavor is not memerable at all. It's slightly bitter and hoppy(?) with slight wheat notes and very slight lemon and yeasty notes. It's light bodied, smooth and refreshing to drink, but so are so many other hefeweizens that have some character.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
not bad at all... another smokey bar, but it managed to chase my guiness well... and that's damn good for a wheat beer. Great color and aroma for a wheat... a wheat that i would have again.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
It looked beautiful. Nice golden color that practically glowed. But in aroma and taste it was terribly lacking. Just sort of a bland beer. If it was an American Standard I would say better than average. But as an American Wheat ... well, it's not exciting.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
I was somewhat dissapointed by this one. It resembles more an ale than a weis beer. Too much hops, and not enough wheat or fruit. Not a bad taste, but not really what I was expecting for the style.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap. Pours a hazy gold with nice foamy head. Aroma of wheat and citrus. Pleasant, wheaty flavor, a little hoppy. A pleasing wheat.

3.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Had it on tap, poured a cloudy gold with a very nice frothy head. Aroma was quite weak. Flavor was hoppier than any wheat ive ever had. A little spicieness and wheat flavor blended well. Not great, but beter than the average wheat.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
I was impressed by the pour and the duration of the head, but as the glass wore on I just found myself wishing it was done. There's not much about the flavor and aroma that I could say that hasn't been said before, so I'll just come to the point. A decent beer, but ultimately somewhat forgettable.

This bottle had been sitting around in my sister's pantry for a while (hey, I was desperate). The date on the bottle was October 2000. It's aroma was sweet and yeasty. The color was a nice honey brown. It had a hoppy attack, wheaty body and a bitter leave. It wasn't spectacular, but it wasn't bad, either considering it was kept in less than ideal conditions. There was quite a bit of yeast sediment collected at the bottom... ahhh, the beauty of unfiltered beer!
