3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
This would be a great beer on a hot summer day. When poured out of the bottle it is cloudy with a golden amber color to it. with a decent medium white head. The flavor isn't at all complex yet it is satisfying and refreshing. good beer to keep stocked in the fridge.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Orangy yellow in color, cloudy. Smells wheaty. Taste bitter hoppy wheat. Taste much better on tap.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. A hazy orange color with a white laced head. A yeasty and wheat aroma but little of the german spice I so enjoy in a wheat beer. More in the grains and malts than the flavor and spice.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
UPDATED: APR 9, 2003 orange color and cloudy with little head..um..why is there a lemon on my glass?...flavor was uriney, wheaty, slightly bitter..I squirted the lemon in to ease my pain but it still was all but pleasing...i noticed some vomit notes at times...this beer is for idiots plain and simple.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma is a little grainy, has some fruity hop presence, and has a little bubblegum. Very nice balance - slightly sweet. A flavorful and enjoyable American wheat,

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: FEB 23, 2003 Bottled. It poured a murky golden/orange, very small white head. Sediment buildup on the bottom of the glass. This was my first unfiltered wheat, and I enjoyed it. Light hops flavor, with some malty sweetness. I would buy this again.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
On tap. This was a beautiful looking beverage in the glass, with a cloudy orange-ish color and decent foam. Unfortunately, the flavor did not live up to the looks, it's just bland and lacking any sort of distintive characteristic that compels to order another.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark yellow, cloudy with a light lacey head. A slight bready, citrus aroma. The same for the flavor...refreshing. I had this one out of the bottle and it is much better on tap. I have had this one many times and do enjoy it. It is always a stanby when nothing really good is available.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: JUN 4, 2003 Bland, without a whole lot of yeast character or esters that you might expect from a hefe. Slightly hazy medium pear gold. Enjoyable, drinkable, and a pretty solid brew, but not exceptional. Rerate, from bottle The bottled version of this had a lot more banana aroma and hop flavor. I nudged the rating up by 1 aroma point, and 1 flavor point.

As a fan of Hefeweizens, there isn't a much better beer to sit down in front of the TV for the Superbowl for. While I enjoyed the Widmer Hefeweizen, I have had better, but being the only available Hefe at my local Vons prompted the purchase. Pours an opaque yellow with a slight head that dissapates quickly. Aroma of citrus as is to be expected. Flavor has hints of malt and banana. Finishes nicely - easy to drink, a nice, easily accessible Wheat.
