A: Hazy Golden Straw Hue, Passes Very Little Light, Mild White Head Ring, Some Lacing S: Mild Wheat, Yeasty T: Mild Lemon, Mild Wheat M: Average Carbonation, Light Bodied, Bitter Overall, this is a really weak flavored hefeweizen with a bitter taste to it. A very bad representation of a craft beer.

Salmoniform (250) - Sweet Home, Oregon, USA - OCT 19, 2013
Poured from bottle to glass. Hazy golden with white head. Aroma is sweet and floral with ester notes of cloves and slight banana. Mouthfeel is smooth initially with a slight CO2 bite following then finishes like velvet. Taste is slightly bland with very little bitterness. Overall, this Hefe is well done (with no real flaws)...but somewhat lacking in depth and complexity in almost all aspects.

Quack-Duck (7517) - Down South, GERMANY - OCT 16, 2013
bottle from Bierzwerg. Cloudy golden colour, small fluffy head. Aroma of spices and tropcial fruit. Light-bodied, wheaty start with a yeasty touch, tropicla fruit (mango, papaya) and spices (cardamom, coriander, clove) are there. Quite light and mild, overall. Although called Hefeweizen, nowhere near a real German Hefeweizen.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a weizen glass. The label has a bottled on date but no abv%. Appearance: The body has a cloudy orange/yellow body with fine yeast sediment hanging in suspension. On top sits a modest one inch tall collar of creamy white foam. This head quickly settles down to thin film layer that make some slick glass lacing. Smell: I get a light lemon like citrus and wheat bready character with some mild clove and a very slight bubble gum and banana. Taste/Palate: It starts with a light and sweet wheat base. From there it adds some citrusy orange and lemon character as well as some very slight bubble gum and banana. (The classic Hefeweizen bubble gum/banana notes are much thinner than I would like to see.) It then finishes with some dry spice and a nice balance of leafy hop bitterness. The palate is fairly crisp and very quaffable. Notes: As a Hefeweizen it is average but as an American Wheat Ale it is very well made.
