mikey (321), farmington, Utah, USA Apr 30, 2008 Poured an opaque, peachy/orange with a thick bumpy head. The nose is buttery with corriander and citrus notes. The flavor starts with a little clover honey bitterness and toasted sourdough. The finish is bitter, wheaty with toasted grains. There’s also a nice floral aftertaste. I love American Hefs much more than the German style. This is better than the average American Wheat and is a must try.
fishean (12), Palmdale, California, USA Oct 5, 2008 Draught. Light and airy, wheat malt and .-like yeast aromas. Grainy and wheaty flavor with some modest bitterness and low hop flavor. Dry, with a thin and prickly texture. This isnt the best Hefeweizen and is mediochre at best. l SamGamgee (591), Santa Cruz, California, USA Sep 23, 2008 Draught. Some tart wheat malt and B.O.-like yeast aromas. Grainy and wheaty flavor with some modest bitterness and low hop flavor. Pretty dry, with a thin and prickly texture. This is far from a hefeweizen, and is pretty mediocre for an american wheat as well. mabel (1662), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 20, 2008 [1647-20080902] Tap. Watery malted applesauce aroma. Very murky, light orange brown body with a medium-lasting foamy white head and some spotted lacing. Some grainy fruit and generic yeast and old beer in the flavour. Medium body. Fairly bland.
(@ Hangar on the Wharf; Juneau, AK) pacaus (42), Dublin, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 17, 2008 Average wheat beer with a mild taste. Almost like a light version of a wheat beer with hints of fruit and spice. rustychiles (475), Mesa, Arizona, USA Sep 15, 2008 Pours a cloudy gold color with a foamy white head. Aroma of wheat, banana and citrus. Flavor is mostly unfiltered wheat, watery, easy drinking. Not a bad hefe, but a little understated as far as flavor is concerned for my taste.
