Pours a cloudy, almost opaque, orangish-yellow with a white head that lasts pretty well. Aroma is citrus and just a hint of yeast. The flavor was lemon. Lots and lots of lemon. To the point that the lemon completely overshadowed whatever else there may have been to the flavor. Would I drink this on a hot day? Sure. But it’s not something I would ever seek out again.
BusBoy (12), , California, USA Jul 14, 2008 On opening a bottle there is a stronger hop presence that it’s German forefather doesn’t have. To strongly hopped and no malty "sock in the mouth" to speak of. Shouldn’t bare the label "Hefeweizen" simply because it has nothing to offer in the category. No signature maltiness that over powers the palate, over hopped like a pale ale and almost no trace of spices like clove or coriander. No orange or banana to speak of. It wasn’t horrible, but it was a waste of money. A real hefeweizen is brewed in Bavaria, not Oregon. Try again... better yet, go out of business. carruthm (306), USA Jul 13, 2008 cloudy yellow with a good head, citrusy aroma and classic american hefe taste. tasty. CelticBrew (420), The Crystal Coast, North Carolina, USA Jul 12, 2008 Pours from 12 oz bottle golden hazy, forming small foamy head that quickly dissipated. Aroma of faint wheats, slight hops, lemons and a bit of malt. Flavour is of bitterness, wheat, malts. A bit thin and watery, with an acidic bitterness. Rhrines perhaps? Overall OK beer, good for those hot days when outside and doing the lawn. BeerBaron617 (75), Novi, Michigan, USA Jul 12, 2008 I’ve had this twice on tap at different locations, and it seemed to be better at one versus the other. It pours a classic wheat beer golden, with very subtle banana notes and lots of malt. Not the best, but defintely not the worst ndfreak77 (70), USA Jul 9, 2008 Pour a cloudy gold color with a small white head. flavored with a hint of orange and hops. Not my favorite wheat beer, but definatey drinkable.
