Draft at Brass Tap Trinity. Pours a dark chocolate brown with a thin tan head. Mild roasted malt aroma with a touch of coffee. Pretty good amount of carbonation for a milk stout. Much appreciated bitterness in the finish with only minimal sweetness up front.

Black pour with a small creamy brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, milk chocolate and a hint of ash. Flavor presents a nice roasted character with bittersweet chocolate, coffee and creamy sweetness. Medium bodied with a sweet finish. Solid offering from Widmer.

UPDATED: MAR 26, 2013 Draft at Moriartys. Is this new? Not expecting to find a brand new beer here. But anyways ... Opaque brown pour with a nice pillowy brown head that died to a light foam after 5 minutes. Dark vanilla nutty aroma. Tasting black coffee. Chestnuts. Vanilla Tootsie Rolls. Some creamy elements bring some fullness but the darker notes provide most of the flavor. Semi-sweet chocolate. Charcoal. Burnt marshmallows. Creamy middle but a slightly bitter finish - not in a bad way. If the finish were sweet one would get sick of this quickly but the bitter finish proves oddly thirst quenching, so one keeps on keeping on. Feels like a Milk Stout but without the bloated feeling. Someone thought this brew through and I appreciate it.

Finger and half of dark tan head. Black colored body. Smell of roasted malt, milk chocolate and toast. Hits the mark. Smooth taste with a good bite of bitterness. Roasted malt a heavy hitter. Great balance and flavor. Smooth texture with low carbonation. An excellent drink.

12 oz bottle pours a black color with an off white color. Aromas of chocolate, roasted malt. Medium bodied with a creamy mouthfeel. Good

Pours black with a thick, resilient dark chocolate head. Aroma is creamy, chocolate, coffee, hint of smoke. Flavor is similar; sweet, creamy, chocolate, smoke with a bitter chocolate finish. Some nice dark lacing. Full bodied, creamy, chewy. My favorite element was this subtle smokiness. It took this Sweet Stout in a direction that I was not expecting but very much enjoyed.

UPDATED: OCT 26, 2012 Pours black with terrific head and a good upper ring of lacing. Aroma - piney IPA nose (not appropriate for the style!) along with more appropriate chocolate and milk notes. Watery, alcoholic, piney, funky mess at first, but thankfully finishes well - milk and chocolate hit at the end and leave a good lingering sweetness. All over the place and very inconsistent, though there are some highlights. Will finish the bomber, but do not want to get again. NEXT DAY UPDATE: Said I would finish the bomber - I don’t always drainpour stuff between 1.5 and 2.5 - but after making grimaces while drinking this again, a close associate said I might as well dump the thing, and I did.
