Bottle as shown. Pours a cloudy amber with a small creamy beige head. The aroma is roasted malt and chocolate. Medium mouthfeel with a rich chocolate malt with roast and light bitter finish. Easy to drink, a very good porter from Widmer Brothers.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: APR 26, 2012 I too had this on tap, and would drink it religiously if it came in decently priced bottles. It was a little "light" in body, but still a very solid, surprising, and rare Oatmeal PORTER by the Widmer Bros Brew Co.
Re-Rating: i found a bottle of this beer which held a lot of promise in my eyes. not many people make an Oatmeal Porter. itís sad though, becasue there is not much flavor at all in the bottled version.

On tap at Widmer Pub. Dark as can be with a faint aroma. I am really enjoying this porter which is uncommon. It has a slight sweetness that brings it together.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Very dark pour with a light tan head that laces the glass fairly well. Very nice nose of lactose, roasty malts, and a touch of dark fruit. Medium to lighter palate - Iíd say on-point for a porter. Taste is roasted oats and a touch of lactose. Really nice oatmeal porter.

22oz. Bottle: Aroma of malt, roasting, chocolate, and some oats. Poured brown in color with a tiny, tan head that barely lasted as a film on top of the beer, but did last around the edges. Clear. Sparkling. Good lacing. Flavor is light to medium sweet. Tastes of malt, roasting, chocolate, oats, vanilla, lactose, and slight of floral hops. Medium body. Slightly chalky, slightly dry texture. Soft to average carbonation. Slightly dry, slightly chalky, light to medium sweet, malt, roasting, chocolate, oats, vanilla, lactose, and slight of floral hop finish.

Draft. Good duration on the head. Dark aromas: chocolate, coffee, maybe a hint if dark sweet toffee. Hint of alcohol on the aroma. Taste confines the smell, mostly dark tastes: coffee, toffee, hints of the oatmeal. Roasted malts. Alcohol is noticeable.
