Location/Date:Bottle on September 23rd, 2012.
Appearance: Pours a clear maroon copper
Aroma:Aroma of bready and caramel malt.
Taste: Caramel malt, some faint breadiness.
Palate:Light body.
Summary: I’m unsure why this isn’t listed as an Oktoberfest/Marzen. But anyway, it’s solid, esp for an american version, but nothing special.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 JK (3966) - Uptown, Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - SEP 23, 2012
Bottle. Amber color. Not a lot here, but some dry malt and considerable hops, it seems like they just brewed a beer and threw the Oktoberfest label on it without regard to what this style of beer is supposed to be. Still, it is ok on its own. Dry, bread finish.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 DrSilverworm (2707) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - SEP 15, 2012
16oz on tap. Good thin foamy off-white head. Clear orange / amber color. Good lace. Lighter, crisp carbonation. Lighter body. Toasty caramel malt aroma, sweet grains. Satisfying bitterness, nice to wash down a philly cheese steak with, but not much to this
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 aracauna (2855) - Georgia, USA - SEP 15, 2012
Mellow toasted malt. Nice and clean. Good but not exciting. Drinkability is high.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 vikingguy (620) - Chaska, Minnesota, USA - SEP 14, 2012
Copper with small tan head. Spicy malt aroma. Taste is spicy, malty, woodsy, caramelly and toasty. A classic Oktoberfest taste. Some decent bitterness on the back end. Medium body. Can’t say anything bad about it at all. A solid Marzen and definitely one I’d buy again.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 notalush (4173) - Denver, Colorado, USA - SEP 12, 2012
Clear copper - fizzy head that diminishes rather quickly - nose has a fair amount of the malt richness of a real ofest, but there is also a light metallic note, toasted grain - light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation - moderate malt character (Munich) - flavors of toffee and toasted grains - the faintest bit of floral hops - the finish brings a little huskiness, but it is not that noticeable - simple, easy drinking - but why not just make an actual Oktoberfest?
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Strilo (63) - Oregon, USA - SEP 11, 2012
Really great Märzen beer that focuses on the malty warm flavor that ends on a sweet note. Drinkable in larger quantities for the many beer festivals. Better on draft than in bottle.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 kramer (3876) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 11, 2012
Pours a clear dark amber body with a small fizzy off-white head that faded pretty quickly. The nose quickly lets on that this is not a real Oktoberfest. Fruity with some husky and slightly toasty malt, just a slight touch hops. The flavor isn’t all that bad, it’s just very bland and boring. A slight toasted malt sweetness throughout with a minimal touch of hops on the husky finish. Lighter bodied with a bit of stickiness on the fizzy finish. Boring Amber Ale here, scroll past.
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 ICEatALAMO (533) - Troy, Michigan, USA - SEP 10, 2012
Draft. Pours a dark amber. The aroma is faint of spice. The taste is almost watered down and don't get much from it. Just meh.

Draft, pours nice amber. Not a terrible offering. Far from the best marzen out there.
