3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle 355 ml
Aroma: herbal Noble hop , even some Lublin like notes. Good malt aroma. Clean. 7+
Appearance: pours amber with medium light white head. 3-.
Palate / Taste: full bodied. Malty sweet base, crystal like malt feel with gentle bittering. Pleasant bitter-sweet collaboration. Slightly chalky mouthfeel might be bit of annoyance.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours amber with a white head. Smells of sweet malt and spicy. Tastes dry and bland with some peppery splashes. Disappointing.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: OCT 7, 2011 Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear medium amber. Aroma is lightly malty (cookie, caramel, grain), lightly hoppy (apricot), with a note of metal. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, slightly unclean. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, slightly metallic. Six years later and still no improvement to this recipe (or brewery in general).

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
12-oz. Pours a crystal clear dark amber with a loose smudge of gray film on top. Cabbage and smoldering dry leaves on the nose. Watery, fairly flat light body. Toast, leaves, and less cabbage on the mid-palate. Mild doughy finish.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
9/29/12. On tap at Dahlia’s. Mostly clear amber/orange pour with a small off-white head. HUGE biscuity/toast/cracker aroma and flavor on this puppy - it was almost overwhelming. On top of that there is barely a touch of floral and earthy hops on top of touches of cream and carmel. Eh.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
This reddish amber ale poured with a modest beige head that dissipated quickly. There is a malty aroma that reflects the substantial caramel malt flavor. There is a dry citrus finish.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle pours a translucent coppery amber, small frothy head that quickly settles to a minor white film, soft carbonation with spotty lacing. Aroma is of malts and grains, slightly toasted, maybe a little bit of corn?!?! Flavor is quite malty, er grainy I mean. Notes of grass (unsweet) and straw. Medium to thin on the body and mouthfeel. Finishes malty, slightly sweet. Flavor was okay, but the aroma just killed it.   Probably one of the least liked Oktoberfest/Marzen beers I've had.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
I guess this being an amber ale explains why it did not taste at all like an marzen. Go figure. Aroma was a nice grapefruit hoppiness with some toasty caramel malt backing. Pours copper with a small beige head. Flavor is more of the toasty caramel malt notes with some buttery notes and a grapefruity citrus finish. Definitley more hoppy than I expected a Fest beer to be. If it is an amber, I enjoyed it a ton more than the Drop Top.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear golden copper with a fizzy white head. Slightly fruity and caramel aroma and a taste of pear and maybe apple to the taste but a sadly watery palate.
