boFNjackson (540), Portland, Oregon, USA Aug 28, 2007 Bottle... Poured a ruby-orange tone with a thin white head. Soft, floral and malt aroma. Sweet, candy or sugary malt flavors with touches of nuts and hops that have a lingering malt aftertaste. I don’t know what it is with ambers, but I really can’t get into the style. I see so many breweries with ambers in their selections but there are few and far between that I actually enjoy a lot.
SamGamgee (593), Santa Cruz, California, USA Oct 4, 2008 12oz bottle. Rich amber color with a lasting head. Cinnamon, plastic, caramel, and pine in the aroma. Sweet toffee and caramel, with a sprucy finish. Medium, syrupy body. I want a real oktoberfest... Sparky27 (600), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Oct 1, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear dark amber with one finger light tan head and ok lacing. Nose is sweet malt and yeast. Taste is sweet malt, toffee and some fruitiness in the finish with a very minor hop taste. Medium mouth feel. Meh, pretty boring. jujubeast6000 (503), Houston, Texas, USA Sep 24, 2008 (Draft @ Gingerman, HOU): Pours an amber brown, body somewhat opaque. Big creamy light tan head. Good lacing. Grape juice aroma, some maltiness. Somewhat malty taste, almost sour aftertaste. Some grapey foretaste. Some balance, but more on the malty side. Pretty good session beer. timfoolery (361), California, USA Sep 24, 2008 Slightly hoppy version of the ever-popular Oktoberfest! This one was very crisp and pretty malty. I wouldn’t say it was thin, but it was thinner than most of the genre. Light and carmelly. mmm///beer (578), Austin, Texas, USA Sep 21, 2008 12 oz. bottle served in shaker- poured transparent dull copper with amber undertones, low carbonation, nice one finger bubbly off peach head formed and laced to a degree. Aroma of carmel, wheat, and malt. Hits the mouth with a low-medium body, malt is a little lackluster- tastes like an old malt was used, touch of cream and sweetness in the middle, finish is crisp with a few noticeable hop notes. It gets the job done for something to drink, but I can think of many better ambers and oktoberfest beers that are in the same price point and are much better in quality.
