HQT Octoberfest. Bottle. This was a great fest beer, using north west hops. Certainly didn’t have German October fest characteristics, which is fine by me. Good color, good hop, good malt balance. Just a good beer. Glad it was here because drinking some of that German shit was pretty unpleasant.

On tap. Served an amber color with a head that fades to bits of lacing. Aroma of malt sweetness, bit of caramel and grain. Taste of malt sweetness and caramel with a touch of grain and citrus. Mild bitterness and a clean finish. Moderate body, smooth but a bit short on malt character.

(Bottle) Amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, slightly toasty nose with notes of dried apricots, orange, toffee, nuts and rye bread. Malty taste with toffee, dried apricots, caramel, candy sugar, orange, rye bread and a balanced spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and well balanced with a chewy malt character. Quite nice.

I get a heavy grainy aroma followed by a sweet malt in this hazy deep orange brew with almost no head. This brew has that german aroma maybe caused by the yeast. Very earthy amd sweet almost like honey sweet in this medium bodied brew. For an october fest not too bad. Worth a try.

MIld honey nose, some dried leaves. Cloudy amber, thin head. Honey on the front end, dried leaves on the back. Medium body, easily sessionable. Not a lot of oompf, but that probably wasn’t the intent.
